My DIY 1,000 Costco Wedding Flower ummm... tutorial?

Several people have asked about wholesale flowers, the price, the quality and how it all works. I thought I’d share a few pictures from the day they arrived, and some tips. (I’m by no means a pro, or anything close to the perfection and amazingness that Centerpiece is, but hey – who is, really?)...

***Let me start by saying – if you have never done this before, I wouldn’t suggest trying it out for the first time for your wedding. It is time consuming, and also- you want your flowers to look A-mazing. It can be very cost effective, but please don’t stress yourself right before your wedding. I’ve done CPs and bouquets for several weddings – for me, it’s fun and relaxing. I knew it would be just what I needed the week of my wedding to calm me down a bit.

I loved the pop of color against their tiffany blue/turquoise dresses. The 9 bouquets were placed on the head table in vases during the reception.

Pic of the girls during the ceremony. Seriously I love these colors together.

We did a couple different arrangements for the altar. This is the best pic I can find. We put more of the airy greenery in these, and they have more roses than the table CPs had.

We just had random jars of roses everywhere.

    1. A jar on the cupcake table

    2. A regular sized jar and a smaller jar arrangement on our "hometown" antique trunks

Ok - I think I'm done! (I kept my bouquet, Mom, MIL and Grandma kept an arrangement or two also)

We delivered the flowers the following day to a senior citizens home. (I bought tons of $1 vases, and we transferred the flowers from the jars to those vases)

We went into each room and visited for a minute and gave each resident a vase or 4 of roses. We left some in the common areas and on the front desks, etc. It was great to add a little bit of sunshine to their rooms and make them smile.

My Grandpa was a resident of that home in the months before he passed. I'd like to think Grandpa was smiling down on us in those moments. Doing this was honestly one of my favorite memories of the weekend. Ok, crying again.

I think if I read this before my wedding, I would have went this route.

One last note on the quality of these roses. They literally STILL look good, and I got married 2 weeks ago today, (so they were delivered 17 days ago...!)

Ok - I promise- I'm done now. I apologize this was so long. Hopefully this was helpful to anyone who is considering DIY flowers. ** and as I've said, please don't consider doing this if you haven't before. - it is work, takes time, and don't stress yourself out **

My MIL sent me this photo a few days ago, so like 14 days after they were delivered. They still look pretty great!

Awesome! I love the detail you gave. If I was using flowers I would consider it now! I mean...other than the fact that my wedding is in a week and it is too late to change anything.

Thanks you for posting this. I am doing my own flowers and want something simple and not too done looking if that makes sense. Just trying to decide between SAMs and Costco. You were please with the flowers from both?
