Amy’s Cakes is only $2.50 per slice, that was a big consideration for me.

So sorry to hear this Laura. The only other suggestion I have for you in budget would be Caprara Bakery in Southgate does mini cannolis for $1.00 each.

I don't drive or I would be. I don't know of anyone who would be able to do that for me, but I really really appreciate you telling me that. I'll keep it in mind just in case though. the cake I was getting was only 75 dollars and that's part of what i'm bummed about. I don't really have any extra budget I can move.

Thanks. i'm going to see the baker my first baker suggested. I've seen some of her work, but her first quote was double the price I was paying for the same thing. My fiance and I are going to her shop though to look at pics. It's a cake supply store so i'm hoping I can get the price down some. I don't want anything overly fancy

BUILD A CAKE OUT OF STYROFOAM AND PUT A CAKE IN THE PLACE TO ACTUALLY CUT. THEY ARE GOING TO ROLL THE CAKE TO THE BACK ANYWAY TO CUT SO YOU CAN BUY A SHEETCAKE TO HAVE IN THE BACK SO THEY CAN CUT AND PASS OUT.

I found people that have bought fake cakes and had sheet cakes in the back and it was delicious!

There isn't a back at our venue or anyone rolling the cake in or out, it's just us. Our wedding and reception are at a community center. We don't have a kitchen. We're the ones cutting it all.. I do have a friend who used to work at a wedding venue who offered to cut it for us, but it'll all be done in the same room.

If they broke contract, are there repercussions for them? Did you make sure to protect yourself?
