August 1 here in Iowa! We are keeping our date and planning like normal. My first fitting for my dress was cancelled, so I am only having 2 starting June 4. The 2 big things we don't have are our rings and the men's measurements.

We are still sending invites as we planned and decided if we have to send new invites/postponement cards, then we will. We know we might lose some of the older people we are inviting, but we are okay with that to be able to keep our original date.

I think things should be okay by then. If things aren't open then I think we have a bigger problem on our hands! Our friends postponed from May to August, just like a bunch of other brides. I really think August will be a safe time Smiley smile

8/8/2020 in Wisconsin...we haven't made the final decision but have a back-up plan (several actually). We are hoping that by August we will be able to have a group of 50, so we are hoping to get married with our wedding party and closest family that day, with an I Do Barbeque afterwards, and postpone the reception with all 300 people to a backup date in December or if needed, next summer. We are planning to make a final decision in June, before we send out invites, unless it becomes apparent earlier that we 100% are not able to have the full wedding.

September 5th, here! Before the shut down, I already had all the major parts booked and had my dress in my closet. We even already have my wedding band. (He just wants a silicone one so it will be easy to get) So now we are just working on slowly paying off our vendors and buying all the smaller parts (decorations, favors, etc) the only thing I'm worried about at this point is making sure I'm able to get my dress altered in a timely manner and whether or not I will get a bridal or bachelorette party. Trying not to panic yet, though. 😬

Hi! August 28th wedding in Philadelphia. We're still moving forward with for now. All the vendors are booked. My wedding dressed is set to come in May and I wil start alterations hopefully in June. I haven't ordered my invites yet though. We sent out save the dates so I'm trying to postpone that until June to see how things go. My fiance and I really want to still get married no matter what the minimum is because we were looking forward to starting our family right away. The only thing that sucks with that though is how much money we've spent on vendors and the venue. Seems like it would be a waste if there was only 50 people there.which would be our wedding party and immediate family lol. still waiting to see. I cancelled my bachelorette in charleston may 29th and I postponed my shower from 6/28 to August 2nd. so many unknowns.

I have the same date and live in SoCal as well! It's so tough right now being in limbo. I keep asking myself, will this continue on to Summer 2021? Pretty crazy that we're all going through it right now. It's hard a pill to swallow, but we're thinking of postponing –– just waiting until May 15th. I read an article that gave me some type of clarity and reality that I will link below. Good luck, lets cross our fingers that people will be able to keep their dates!Smiley heart

I've wanted to be hopeful but I think it's time to be realistic, at least for me living in the state of Maryland. There is absolutely no way 200+ people will be allowed to be together in August. Our cases are still rising. So because of that I have stopped planning altogether. We are waiting for our venue to let us out of our contract without penalty..they said they can't do that until about a month before based on the state guidelines. They haven't been understanding, and I don't think a month before is an appropriate amount of time to make a decision. So I have found another venue that we will be going with next summer.

Best of luck to all of you.

I live in Maryland also! We are having the same issue with our venue. Did they tell you when they would be considering moving August weddings? Ours is on the 29th but I'm at this point just ready to move on and find a new date. I honestly don't think things will be fine, especially after what Hogan said today.

Hi Kenzie! Our venue is in Virginia and they’re waiting to hear more about when/if the stay at home order is lifted. Once they hear that then we’ll get to postpone (if the order is extended). But they said they even have an event planned for June 12 (2 days after the VA order ends), which seems risky to me but I digress. Maybe I interpreted Hogan’s message differently? He mentioned that he was hopeful in starting phase one in early May toward the beginning of the press conference. I know that’s not a hard date but that makes me think that we might be at least in phase 2 by summer time, which would allow us to have 50 people. I know the curve is definitely flattening in Maryland as he mentioned and we’re slowing the spread. I guess it’s a waiting game. What’s your venue in MD? I would love to switch to an MD venue if VA can’t reopen but idk how it’ll all work out...wishing you luck!!

Oh wow..that does sound super risky! I was hoping my venue would let me make the decision in May but it doesn't seem like it. I've stopped planning..my dress is delayed..I don't want to spend the money on invitations if it won't be happening. But I don't think that event in VA will happen based on the phases. Even if the state opens up there are strict guidelines they have to follow. He did seem hopeful but again it's all about the data. I due think phase II in the summer is a slight possibility but he said phase II would be significantly longer. My wedding is about 200 people so even if we are in phase II it wouldn't be possible. It's flattening luckily but I think it needs to be going downward, so it plateauing isn't even good. It's just all so crazy..plus I'm unsure about how VA, MD and DC working together will affect things, like if one state is having a rise in cases will it impact others? How many people are you having at your wedding? I'm having my wedding at Antrim 1844, but if we have to postpone we will be changing venues due to availability next year. Best of luck to you though!

We haven’t sent invitations yet out either. We were planning to have 150 but I’m honestly willing to downsize it as much as possible, like to 50 or below. Ooo nice venue! My venue is Foxchase Manor in Manassas. It’s a little stressful because we are contracted for a buffet. I asked if we could switch to plated because of the circumstances and it’ll be about 3k extra.....sigh it’s just so stressful. I don’t even want to be excited anymore because who knows what will happen 😔

We're August 8 and I'm still going as planned! I'm supposed to start my dress alterations next week but we'll see what happens with that...

We are also definitely getting married no matter what! We picked our date for a reason and we'll just have to have a great party at a later date if the limitations aren't lifted.

Thank you...I think we looked at your venue in the early stages but my fiance wanted to stay in Maryland. Oh no..that's weird that it's more for plated. All the venues I looked at buffet was more expensive. Maybe you should investigate that a bit more. It really is stressful...I feel the same way I was so excited for the wedding, then March came and everything changed. I hope you get to have a fantastic day whenever that may be. I wish we could cut out guest list down but we struggled to get it to 200. We both have larger families which made it a bit more challenging.

We're getting married on August 8th, and kind of still hoping the party is that day? We are pretty much done planning, I think the only big thing left is ordering invitations and I've already designed them.
I had my first fitting in February and I was supposed to go back today, but that's obviously not happening.
I'm so torn over whether or not I even want this to happen, because I want everything to be okay, but I know it won't be and I'm worried about people getting sick. Our venue will allow us to postpone without any additional fees if there are limitations on gatherings, but I don't think they'll feel the same way if the reason for postponing is, "I'm kind of nervous."

My wedding date was August 1, 2020. I postponed till next July 2021. I just don't think things will be "normal" enough yet to have a wedding.

    Hi Abby,

We're also getting married August 22nd, God willing we can still proceed. Our wedding is in Denver, since we live New York and New Jersey respectively Save the dates have been sent out months ago since its a destination for all of us traveling to Colorado. My wedding gown is at the alterations shop waiting for was suppose to be an end of May fitting. Also all vendors have been finalized. I'm waiting till at least the 1st week of June to reach out again to my venue. If we have to postpone we'll have to pick a date within 2020. Hang in there, we'll get through this!

We are also getting married 8/22 in Ohio. Our governor announced yesterday that weddings can resume June 1st for up to 300 people with restrictions. I am Shocked to say the least! I figured maybe 50 or 100 people, but 300! The restrictions are the same as restaurants.. no dancing, tables 6 feet apart, no self serve nuggets, etc. We will make this work though! I will dance at my table if I have to 😂 Keep your heads up ladies!

That is crazy. Personally I feel like 300 is way too many. Honestly, if there is no dancing..doesn't seem like much of a wedding. And with social distancing required, I just can't see it being fun at all. I'm thinking my governor is going to move a lot slower..which I'm grateful for because I want my wedding to be everything I've wanted and with those restrictions I just can't envision that. But best of luck to you if you can make it work.
