Must-have Wedding Photos

I want one with my dance family. I have been a part of the same dance studio since I was 2 years old. The original owner and the new owner are both invited to the wedding along with the other teachers and my dance sister whose a bridesmaid. They are a second family to me so definitely want a pic with all of them. So if you have any groups like that, definitely put them on your list!

I also have a weird ish one lol. I have a large tattoo on my back for my grandma. I want a pic from behind that showcases the tattoo somehow.

Other than that, it's all the pretty standard ones of family, bridal party, and as many with guests throughout the evening as possible.

For me it’s overall interactions between people, capturing the little moments between us, the wedding party, our families and guests I’m going for more of a candid/unposed style majority of the time since my fiancé does not like getting his picture taken that much haha

I forgot to take photos of us and our rings but that can be really done again at any time (I took our wedding photos). Would have also liked some "piggy back" pics or us carrying each other haha. Other than those, don't really have any regrets and am happy with our photos.

I really wanted a close up our ring Exchanged, but forgot to let that be known.
Looking back through my photos, I don’t really have and that show me in my dress, where the dress is shown off. They’re all from the waste up, or from the back showing the train, or covered by flowers.
With that being said, i wish I took some pictures not holding my bouquet. Every picture with my husband I’m holding them.
My veil got wet and I took it off so I didn’t have it when they went to do a veil shot, and I wish I would have gotten it or we came back to the pose when it dried.
Find locations at your venue you want pictures and let your photographer know. I didn’t and thought I could say of, but I was being pulled so many directions I just went with whatever he told me, which was fine, but it could have been better.
Also, don’t rush. I had no clue what time it was and i was getting hungry and my husband doesnt like pictures. So I feel like we hastily, in not so many words, said enough pictures. Now I got A LOT of pictures back, but I feel like we could have gotten more/different poses if we would have just relaxed. We had plenty of time.

More photos of me and my bridesmaids while we were dressed! We have a bunch in robes and of a first look with my bridesmaids & the Moms, but only one poses fully dressed photo. I also wanted pics of me 1x1 with each bridesmaid but I assumed that was standard so didn’t request it and it didn’t happen. ☹️ So don’t assume any shot is standard, even if your photographer tells you not to worry about calling out standard shots. 😊

Also, a nice to have photo to offer (if there’s time, totally not a must have) is a shot for each member of your wedding party with their partner. My husband has been in SO many weddings and we almost never have a chance to get our own non-pro photo together! It would have been nice if I snuck into one quick shot with him at any of those weddings. 😊 Again, like I said, not a must have! Just a nice opportunity for your wedding party.
