Must Have Photos

Kayla, on October 12, 2020 at 12:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

I'm getting ready to send a list of photos to my photographer that we want to make sure we get on our big day. Were there any photos that you absolutely had to have and what were they?

I hope to have a picture of us kissing. I also hope to have a picture of us exchanging rings.

Mine were mostly certain family groupings. For example, I am very close with my mom and my grandmother on my mom's side so I wanted a picture of just the three of us. I don't have a very close relationship with my grandmother on my dad's side so I didn't care so much if I had an smaller group photo with her. We did the photo of my mom, my grandmother and I prior to the ceremony because I didn't want my grandmother on my dad's side to wonder why she didn't get a separate photo with me. I also looked on Pinterest at different ideas for photo inspirations. Some of them I really liked so I included on my must have. Below I've included the inspiration photos I liked from Pinterest and how mine looked.

I gave a long list of photos I wanted to my photographer, but unfortunately I didn't get a lot of the ones I wanted. However, the ones that I think are most important were family photos, getting ready photos and just candid photos of the entire day. My favorite photos I got were our kiss, a group shot of everyone at the wedding (our photographer stood on a chair and took a photo of everyone on the dance floor), and a group shot during the reception of our families.

I wish I would've fought for a photo of me and my grandparents, a separate photo of me and my brother and a couple of other photos that didn't get done.

I went to our venues website and looked at other photos taken there to get an idea of photos I had to have. I found this very helpful. We also knew we wanted a photo with our entire families.

Yes! My husband and I son holding his sign while walking down the aisle that says "daddy here comes mommy" ❤️. That was the one picture that I absolutely needed!
