Multiple wedding registries?

Amy & Dan, on December 6, 2014 at 4:51 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

Does anyone have more than one registry? How many is too many? I was thinking of having a couple just so there is variety among pricing and stuff like that. What have you guys done?

    I think 2-3 is good.

We have most of our things at Bed Bath and Beyond, then for the things we couldn't really find there (but still for the home) we registered at Macy's, then for the stranger things we did Amazon. I think 2-3 is good because for example we didn't like the sheets at BB&B but we did like them at Macy's. Then Amazon allowed us to put a few things that aren't really normal. I have seen many couples do this where there is one place with the bulk of the things and another place to add things the first didn't have.

I had two - one at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and then one at a smaller chain called Sur La Table. 95% of my presents came from BBB I think because of the universal familiarity with it. That bummed me because Sur La Table is a foodie's dream store. Since few of my presents were delivered to my house, I'm guessing most went in person and they just didn't want to find a store new to them.

We have 3. We might add 1 more for our honeymoon since our travel agent recommended it, but I would say 2-3. I think 3 is a good number, because you want to give your guest a few options. Also, you may want things that you can't find all at one store. Also, some of our guest love online shopping and some never shop online so we want it to be convenient for them. Some people do 1 online registry, 1 store registry and 1 monetary registry. I think having too many registries might be confusing and it might also make us look greedy lol. We are registered at Kohl's, Target and Sears. We wanted the option of purchasing online, a variety of locations, places familiar to most guests and various price ranges.

I was originally thinking 2 but now I'm leaning towards 3. Glad to know thats considered "acceptable". We have a large guest list too so I think having a lot of options will be good. We are planning to register this month, and as of now I'm thinking of Macys, BBB, and Williams Sonoma or Sur La Table.

I have two... Macy's and BBB. I was really leaning towards three but I feel like between the two--I have a good amount of items.

We just finished putting together our registry. I choose Bloomingdale's for our fine china, crystal and flatware and Crate and Barrel has some more miscellaneous home items, like table lamps and a floor steamer. Not sure if I will make a 3rd registry, but if I did it would probably be to Target.

We had 3. Macy's for crystal, sheets, and towels. Pottery Barn for decor, everyday wine glasses, home basics, stuff like that. Williams Sonoma for kitchen gadgets, electrics, and a bunch of random gardening stuff from their online only site.

I use a website called myregistry.com since the items I want come from all different stores, on there I have Bloomingdales, Anthropologie, Macys, Sur La Table etc

We have 2. BBB and Amazon. I'm using Amazon for things that are not at BBB since with Amazon you can add stuff from any site just like you can with MyRegistry. We were using MyRegistry but the other day I deleted it and put everything on Amazon instead. Amazon is just a bit easier to use and I got an email saying I'd get a $15 Amazon gift card if I made a wedding registry with them. Also, I already use Amazon Wish List for Christmas and birthdays.

We used my registry as well. But still tried to keep it to 3 since some of the older people will just go to the stores and ask. We are on Macy's (upgraded plates), Khol's, and Walmart (yard equipmet/electronics).

We have three--BB&B, Crate and Barrel and Target. BB&B has most of our stuff, Crate and Barrel has a few house decorating items and Target has all camping gear.

We wanted there to be a variety for people as far as prices and things. Plus, 90% of the stuff we put on there is stuff we would like and will end up buying over time anyway.

We have two one at Bed Bath and Beyond and one at Kohl's, I think two or 3 is plenty of registries.

Thanks everyone! We registered at 3, BBB, Target, and William-Sonoma, but were also debating on whether or not to do a monetary one. I found a cool one on WW where you can add different sections so people can see what they are giving towards. For instance, you could add "down payment on a house" or "pay off student loans" or "traveling" and people can pick and choose how much to give and which one they want to give to. Just thought it was pretty cool.We will probably stay at 3 though. Thanks!
