Mountain wedding on a budget!!

Sarah , on December 14, 2016 at 3:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hey everyone! I need all the help I can get. I want an outdoorish wedding in the mountains (as near to Brevard, NC as possible) for as thrifty a price as possible. I thought I would outsmart the system by getting married in a random field and getting all the different vendors myself but I'm quickly realizing that's definitely not always the most cost effective option. I have a rustic/nature theme and not above things being on the casual end. I'm open to any and all ideas and suggestions! Please help!!

    I will start!

I recommend working with a venue or gov property (park system). Going to a random park could backfire big time. Once a single person steps foot on random property, cops could be called, trespassing could be violated, parking violations could be a problem. When you work with a business, they have done all the liscencing and researched the legal stuff for you. You and your guests don't want to be asked to leave before it even gets started.

Having said all that stuff above, start with Brevard's Office of Tourism for ceremony locations. They will have privately own businesses and government parks listed.

I don't know where that is in NC but if it's close to Asheville, I'd look into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I was able to do a wedding for $6000 there for about 65 people. It was a 2 hour drive & almost all invited guests came

Sorry, but your "random field" plan sucks. Your wedding could be over before it even begins. Play by the rules, pay for the right of using the site and be secure in knowing that your ceremony will happen.
