My mom made me a purse out of some lace and buttons from her dress. the cool thing is that when I sent my dress, veil, garter, and this purse to be cleaned and preserved after all those years this lace came out sparkling white! I was shocked.

One of my sisters and I both wore my mother's wedding dress. Daughter would have loved to have worn it, but it was about 4" too short with no way to fix that and the 70+ year old fabric was starting to shred. We ended up using lace from one of the sleeves to wrap her bouquet; she said it made her think her beloved Gramma, who's been gone about about 10 years now, was "holding her hand" all day.... She also tied a 1948 penny to her bouquet, as that was the year both sets of grandparents were married. Smiley heart

I'll be taking part of my grandma's dress and having it sewn into mine for me and my two cousins. She passed away 12 almost 13 years ago, and I know all three of us girls would kill to have her there. Unfortunately, none of us could even get the dress up past our butts. So I though a little heart to sew in to our dresses would be a good way to commemorate her.
