Monday weddings ???

Hi guys ,
So I am less than a month away from my wedding . My wedding isn’t completely traditional Everyone is invited to the ceremony and I will serve drinks and my wedding cake in the back afterward for everyone .
I have gone from big wedding —-> courthouse ——-> finally ceremony and cake lol it’s been crazy . During this time I have somehow gotten myself stuck having my wedding on November 25 on a Monday . The photographer I hired has changed my contract twice already and honestly I’m ok with it . I don’t want to keep making changes I’m less than a month away . So do you guys think it’s super inconvenient or inconsiderate to have a wedding on a Monday ? Side note I’m taking a select group to dinner that night with my wedding dress on and I don’t want to do that on a busy Saturday that’s why I’m ok with Monday . What do you guys think?

Monday weddings are fine if that works for your group. But is your ceremony over a meal time? It so you need to be feeding everyone a meal afterwards and not just cake and drinks.

The right people will show up to your wedding, no matter what day it is! As long as you & your FH are happy with your decision, it will be wonderful.

I agree with previous post it shouldnt matter what day people make time for what's important to them.

My wedding will be on a Monday, and I think that's fine. More than half of my group is already retired (all family) and the others will be from out of town and required a full week off anyways. So as long as it's good with your party, who cares? It saved me thousands too, so I'll always recommend a weekday wedding.

Also getting married on a Monday. We’re just doing us, our kids & immediate family. We told everyone we understood if they were unable to attend, we were just doing an intimate ceremony & dinner after

Totally fine to have a Monday wedding if that's what you decide, but be prepared for people to decline. Additionally, the "everyone that's important will be there" mindset isn't great to have. During my company's busy season, people wouldn't even get time off for their OWN wedding, let alone someone else's. People have lives and jobs and other commitments--anyone having a weekday wedding should just be mindful of that.
Also--like Kelly asked, is the wedding going to be during a mealtime? It's technically not great etiquette to only take a "select group" from the people invited to your ceremony to dinner.

I think I would be more annoyed if I took the whole day off of work Monday and then only got invited to the daytime events.
And as another poster said, some people just can’t take mondays off certain times of the year. We couldn’t get married from October to January because my fiancé wouldn’t be able to get a single day off in the final quarter. So it’s very possible that important people wouldn’t be able to come not because you’re not a priority but because it’s impossible.

My wedding is on a Monday 🤷🏻‍♀️ I feel like as long as you give everyone appropriate notice (meaning not 3 days before) the people who are meant to be there will be there.

Good thing about having a wedding during the week is much cheaper than weekends. Our is on a Tuesday afternoon.

I personally wouldn’t pick a Monday for a wedding but I’ll assist if I was close to the bride and groom. As long as everyone has a heads up and knows in advance I don’t see a problem.

“ Side note I’m taking a select group to dinner that night with my wedding dress on and I don’t want to do that on a busy Saturday that’s why I’m ok with Monday” this is the only thing that’s concerning in case any of your guests not invited catch wind of this. It can be considered rude! But a Monday sounds totally fine as long as it isn’t during a meal time

If I understand correctly, is on a Monday because of scheduling conflicts your photographer had? Honestly, that doesn't seem like a good reason to go with a date that will inconvenience a lot of your guests. Why not delay the wedding to a Saturday or Sunday when she's available? Also, I'm not sure I understand the concern about going to a restaurant on a Saturday. That it would be too crowded and noisy? I'm sure you can find a restaurant that has nice atmosphere even during peak times.

I am having a monday wedding. I am giving my family and friends plenty of time to make arrangements. I am happy with my decision and am saving over $700

My wedding is on a Tuesday. I think it's fine as long as you give everyone a good notice so they can get time off if needed.

Whatever day works for you is most important. whoever can be there will be. and if its super important for them to be there they will make it work! plus not everyone is invited to dinner - does it really matter who makes the ceremony?

We had ours on a Friday afternoon. The people who really want to be there will be there. We had a small wedding and it wasn't that big a deal to people. I also purposefully did it during school/ daycare hours so they could leave their kids at home and keep the reception short and sweet.

As a guest it's very inconvenient to attend a Monday wedding and definitely nontraditional. However, I'm a firm believer that it's your wedding, your day, your moment. Do it however works best for the two of you and do whatever makes you happy!!! It's about you two and your lives together, no one else. So what everyone thinks or what is convenient for them is kind of irrelevant. You do you girl! The people that want to/can come will be there and that's what matters. It's the start of your life as a married couple so do what works best for the two of you and don't worry about anyone else!

My wedding is on a Monday as well. We only invited immediate family and some close friends. Most of the people attending work shift work so no matter what day of the week we picked someone would have to take off of work. The only reason we ended up with a Monday wedding was that our anniversary date just so happened to fall on a Monday. The only people who have complained about it are my parents but they complain about everything.
