This is the box I did for my girls. They all got different items based on what they like and favorite color, scents etc. I also tried to not do anything super bridesmaid so they could use it all the time. More likely to use something with their name or initial than bridesmaids written across.

I see your wedding is over a year away. I personally wouldn't ask to far in advance as relationships can change. I was best friends with someone for 10+ years and had asked her to be my maid of honor about 10 months prior to my wedding. Six months before she backed out because she was under a lot of stress. She was supposed to be maid of honor in my wedding and another friend's wedding a week after mine. After she backed out, I found out she was bashing me and my husband for months because she never liked him. Needless to say we aren't friends anymore. I have seen a lot of other brides post similar things about how they regret who they had in their bridal party. As for what you asked, there are all sort of different things you could include. I didn't do proposal boxes, but they are cute. Some things you could include would be necklace/bracelet, cups, robes, bath bombs, lotion, candles, favorite candy, etc.

Etsy has some awesome pre-made ones that can be personalized, but they were a bit out of my price range so I’ve been putting my own together! This bag is sold on Etsy for about $8, you can choose the letter on the front and the message inside! I also got her a personalized cup ($14), throw in a card and some jewelry in their style and you’re SET. (Hand sanitizer and a roll of toilet paper optional 😂)
