Missing party planning...and planning in general!

FutureMrsKC, on June 26, 2019 at 10:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

5 months married today and I...miss planning? Don't get me wrong, I do not miss the stress and shelling out chunks of money at a time. But, I do miss party planning...looking at details, finding deals, designing the set-up, the menu, etc. I think I always liked planning and hosting (which is why we have a lot of holidays at our house, lol!) but overall I am so excited to plan something else!

We are "family planning" aka have a timeline for when I plan to go off of birth control and hope to start trying for a baby, but overall I am SO PUMPED for the gender reveal, the birthday parties, the fun holidays when you have kids, things like that.

I almost feel like if someone gave me a budget I'd 1000% plan a party for them! It's just soooo fun to me! I know a lot of people make this into careers but I actually love the career I'm in, I just need more reasons to celebrate because it's really satisfying to me! Anyone else slightly miss the planning phase, without the stress and budget part?

Ahah it also keeps you busy when planning. The nice thing is now you're a good encyclopedia of wedding planning knowledge you can share with brides here and friends and what not

Maybe have a summer party? We just hosted a big family BBQ in our backyard this past weekend, it was half as big as the wedding, and probably more exhausting. But I got to pick out some cute party "necessities", plan a menu, collect RSVPs.

    Ha! SAME!!!!

I'm already pseudo-planning my baby showers/parties for the babies we don't even have yet. My niece has her 1st birthday coming up and I've already volunteered to plan it. My sister is newly engaged and I'm DYING to help with their wedding. My younger sister is about to be engaged (but of course, she doesn't realize it yet...) and I'm just waiting to help there too. Planning stuff like this (minus the money part) is so FUN!

That is true which is probably why I am still on this site, though definitely not as often anymore!

That sounds so fun! We do Thanksgiving at our house and we have huge families so it is definitely similar! I think I just miss the anticipation of seeing things all come together!

YES! I literally have a theme picked out for my future baby shower which is pretty gender neutral. (I may even have an Amazon list of things for a gender reveal, too.) Sometimes I feel crazy but I soooo look forward to the excitment of that!

Girl....elephant themed baby shower for the "girly shower party" with a big, gender reveal bash to follow.

We are on the same wavelength here! (Also, can't stop watching YouTube gender reveal videos lately - I'm crazy! HA!)
