Mini Wedding Timeline!

Raquel, on July 23, 2020 at 12:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
So found my dream venue (yayyy!). They have a new mini wedding special and I love the price but it’s only from 6-10pm. Is anyone else considering a 4 hour ceremony/reception? And if so what is your timeline looking like? Will you plan an after party? I’m worried we’re going to feel rushed.

    4 hours seems fine!

A ceremony that’s non religious is usually less than half an Hour. Skip the cocktail hour and go straight into reception. So a timeline for a 3.5 hour reception is totally doable!

    I think the timing is perfect. We're doing a sunrise wedding followed by a brunch reception, our time is 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. (actually 10:30 a.m.)

Awesome, thank you.. I don’t know why I felt like a cocktail hour HAD to happen. That a really good idea.

6-10 sounds perfect and you don't have to have a cocktail hour, I know we aren't and ours is from 6-11. We're just going straight into the reception (though I mostly made this decision to save money lol).

That’s pretty much our reason too, to save money 😂. The same venue for 8 hours was $7000 and I just couldn’t do it.

Oh $7000 for 8 hours?? Yeah I would have taken the r hour one too😂😂
Ours is $5,500 and we're pretty much only paying for the services and food, there's no venue fee.

Ours is from 5:30-10. We are having the ceremony at 5:30, then cocktail hour after the ceremony so we can take pictures (we aren't doing a first look). We did it to save money, too.

A four hour reception is pretty typical. Anything over that would be extra.
