Military delaying wedding planning.

Katrina, on May 21, 2021 at 10:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 2
Hey guys! Wondering if there are any brides out there in the same boat as me. My fiancé is in the coast guard and transfer season is coming in September. So we won't know where he is going to be stationed next or if he will be in the states. SO we have to put planning to a stop till we know more in September.. I'm bummed because everyone is excited and asking when our date is or even an idea and we have absolutely no idea! Any tips on what we could be planning in the meantime?

Until you know for sure where you'll be you can work on budget and guest list (not the most fun parts, I know); decide what types of flowers you like, start looking at dresses to determine what you like; think about what kind of food you'll want to offer; do you want a full bar, beer and wine, or dry; look at colors, invitations, bridesmaids dresses, groom and groomsmen attire - you can do a lot of "planning" without actually purchasing anything or having a specific date/venue/etc.

Oh - look at photography and see what kinds of styles suit you.

I feel you - we almost weren’t allowed to have our “covid mini wedding” last year because of the navy and the stupid radius of travel. We ended up crafting a way to make it work, but I feel for you because it totally sucks! Have you thought about a destination wedding through sandals? I wish I could rewind time and just do that, honestly. And- if you book a vacation and need to postpone it, you totally can so it’s flexible!
