Dedicated October 2021

Mid September or mid October wedding

Danielle, on September 17, 2020 at 5:39 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hi everyone. I need some advice. This may be confusing so bear with me. My future sister in law got engaged a month after I did. Due to some miscommunication, they decided on October of 2021 for their wedding. I have always wanted a fall wedding so I decided to hold our wedding in September. We recently booked for September 12th. Since then, my SIL has changed her date to early August due to venue availability. So here's the dilemma.

Our venue has an October date available but it is October 17th. We are planning a Sunday wedding anyway because it is $35 cheaper per person. Having it mid October would allow over 2 months of separation between the weddings. My issue is the weather. The venue has a retractable roof in the ceremony room and I would love to have it open. The weather in NJ is so unpredictable. It could be too hot in mid September but too cold in mid October. Otherwise everything else but the pictures would be inside. There are no pretty trees to worry about unfortunately as there are none in that area.
What would you do?

I think you could go with October. Ceremonies are usually short so if that’s all that will not be inside it should be fine. If you really want October go for it.

I don’t think either date makes a difference in terms of your SIL. What time do you plan to have your wedding?? The sun will obviously set sooner in October meaning an earlier evening wedding compared to September for the best pics, so I’d base it off that.

The ceremony starts at 4:30. As far as my SILs date, the only concern was the people coming from out of town. The more time in between the better.

I would go with September if you want the retractable ceiling to be open - if its cold then no one wants to have even more hot air coming in, but I think if guests are seated it's easier to be hot than cold.

I’d go with October then! Win win situation in my opinion.

I recommend the october date if you've always wanted a fall wedding.

Choose whichever date you want! I wouldn’t worry about the other wedding it really doesn’t matter if it’s close together or not
