Micro wedding to large reception

Molly, on January 18, 2021 at 11:20 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3
Anybody else out there with a 2020 wedding effected by Covid-19? Did you end up doing a micro wedding in 2020 with a planned larger reception in 2021? My micro wedding was 10/31/20 and my large reception is 10/15/21! I’m excited to be able to celebrate with all of my family and friends but sometimes I’m kind of like... I don’t really want to plan anymore or pay anymore money haha... anybody else feel this way too?

We planned to have our reception this year but the restrictions are still present. Our anniversary is next month so we pushed it to 2022. Because it isn’t a wedding it should be significantly cheaper.

I feel the exact same way!! I didn’t think I would be content with just doing a micro wedding but on 10/2/20 my husband and I got married in a park with our closest family and friends there and it was the best day ever!! I’ve been starting to think about planning for our larger reception in 2021 and I just don’t feel like going through all that stress again or spending thousands of dollars when it all feels for show. Despite all
this, I’m worried I’ll regret not having the bigger reception. Ugh what do we do??

    Hi Molly!

My older sister got married at the courthouse on 10/7/20 and is planning her reception for sometime in October of this year. She's excited and has noticed that it's actually going to cost less because she isn't listing it as a wedding, but more of an anniversary celebration. I hope your planning and budgeting go well!
