Micro Wedding budgeting🤔

Cassi, on January 15, 2021 at 3:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 13
Hi everyone! So I haven’t officially decided a budget. I don’t want to go over 5-6k for a micro destination wedding to Florida. We are only going to have about 12-20 guests max. We do plan to pay for everything except their flight and attire (our guests are our wedding party, for the most part). How much did you spend total on your micro wedding? I’d love to hear ideas😇♥️

We are planning a small destination wedding as well! Out of all the weddings I’ve been to, destination weddings are always the most fun! 😀 I think budgets can vary a lot for them, depending on what you want. We plan to have 25-30 guests and so far the total costs are about $37,000. That includes the ceremony, officiant, musicians, flowers, reception (food, wedding cake, open bar, entertainment), photographer, videographer, hair and make up for myself & wedding party, our wedding party’s attire, wedding party gifts, the rehearsal dinner, and a thank you brunch for all guests.

Oh that’s awesomeee!!! I didn’t think about a thank you brunch! I’m totally copying that lmao but thats comforting to know they’re the most fun. We want our wedding to be a fun chil and party type of vibe. We aren’t having a reception per say, but we will get dinner catered and we plan to rent a vacation house. From there we want to go out in the town and live it up 🥰 we decided against family and we are having only our close friends and our kids, their children and or plus ones-their preference 😁so we cut a little coat with the reception and everything our venue is really affordable for the ceremony part and I was thinking about having a photographer. There’s one included for an hour but I want getting ready pics and things of that nature-not 100%decided. I’m sorry I went on a totally rant lol thanks for sharing though!! 🥰♥️

Hey, that’s what we’re here for - to give each other great ideas! When it comes to destination weddings, most guests use it as a mini vacation and end up doing a lot of things on their own with their spouses, so you may not see them much (or at all!) after the wedding. I wanted to make sure I could see everybody one last time
before they left and thank them for dedicating the time and finances it took to be with us on our special day. Brunch seemed like the best way to do it!
It sounds like we have a similar plan for our weddings- we will be having a short ceremony, then we opted out of a traditional reception (no DJ, no dancing, no speeches, no intros, etc.) just a nice sit down plated meal and open bar for everyone. We just didn’t see the purpose in hiring a DJ and trying to create a party vibe in a venue space, when everyone could hit Bourbon Street for a real party vibe! To be honest, we probably could have skipped flowers all together and saved that money, but I got wrapped up in pinterest wedding planning and made a rash decision 😂

Yes!! One of my friends already said she’s going to make a vacation out of it with her kids. I hope everyone can, I know some of our friends haven’t been to Florida I’d love for them to be able to experience some of it outside of our day if they can.and yes I totally feel you on the dj and music opt out. We’re going to find the nightlife area of destin and try and stay relatively close to that and go out afterwards 😍 I love that brunch idea I think it’s perfect!! And you don’t have to worry shout thank you cards either lol 😉

We probably only spent about $2500 for our minimony. We had 35 guests and my parents cooked for everyone. We definitely wanted to spend a little for that since our bigger wedding would easily be $15000+

Sounds awesome. Not sure if you know Frenchman street in NOLA. I much prefer it over Bourbon and it’s not far away.

You should totally plan a trip! I had a colleague go over Christmas and she said it was very empty. So make sure you go when covid is (at least somewhat) over Smiley smile
IMO Frenchman is a bit more grown up than Bourbon, but you have to explore both! And the food is delicious.

I am with you, I actually enjoy Frenchmen more as well! But for most of our guests this will be their first time to New Orleans, and of course they’re all really excited about Bourbon Street. We definitely have plans to hit up Frenchman before we leave as well though
