Micro Wedding budgeting馃

Hi everyone! So I haven鈥檛 officially decided a budget. I don鈥檛 want to go over 5-6k for a micro destination wedding to Florida. We are only going to have about 12-20 guests max. We do plan to pay for everything except their flight and attire (our guests are our wedding party, for the most part). How much did you spend total on your micro wedding? I鈥檇 love to hear ideas馃槆鈾ワ笍

We are planning a small destination wedding as well! Out of all the weddings I鈥檝e been to, destination weddings are always the most fun! 馃榾 I think budgets can vary a lot for them, depending on what you want. We plan to have 25-30 guests and so far the total costs are about $37,000. That includes the ceremony, officiant, musicians, flowers, reception (food, wedding cake, open bar, entertainment), photographer, videographer, hair and make up for myself & wedding party, our wedding party鈥檚 attire, wedding party gifts, the rehearsal dinner, and a thank you brunch for all guests.

Oh that鈥檚 awesomeee!!! I didn鈥檛 think about a thank you brunch! I鈥檓 totally copying that lmao but thats comforting to know they鈥檙e the most fun. We want our wedding to be a fun chil and party type of vibe. We aren鈥檛 having a reception per say, but we will get dinner catered and we plan to rent a vacation house. From there we want to go out in the town and live it up 馃グ we decided against family and we are having only our close friends and our kids, their children and or plus ones-their preference 馃榿so we cut a little coat with the reception and everything our venue is really affordable for the ceremony part and I was thinking about having a photographer. There鈥檚 one included for an hour but I want getting ready pics and things of that nature-not 100%decided. I鈥檓 sorry I went on a totally rant lol thanks for sharing though!! 馃グ鈾ワ笍

Hey, that鈥檚 what we鈥檙e here for - to give each other great ideas! When it comes to destination weddings, most guests use it as a mini vacation and end up doing a lot of things on their own with their spouses, so you may not see them much (or at all!) after the wedding. I wanted to make sure I could see everybody one last time
before they left and thank them for dedicating the time and finances it took to be with us on our special day. Brunch seemed like the best way to do it!
It sounds like we have a similar plan for our weddings- we will be having a short ceremony, then we opted out of a traditional reception (no DJ, no dancing, no speeches, no intros, etc.) just a nice sit down plated meal and open bar for everyone. We just didn鈥檛 see the purpose in hiring a DJ and trying to create a party vibe in a venue space, when everyone could hit Bourbon Street for a real party vibe! To be honest, we probably could have skipped flowers all together and saved that money, but I got wrapped up in pinterest wedding planning and made a rash decision 馃槀

Yes!! One of my friends already said she鈥檚 going to make a vacation out of it with her kids. I hope everyone can, I know some of our friends haven鈥檛 been to Florida I鈥檇 love for them to be able to experience some of it outside of our day if they can.and yes I totally feel you on the dj and music opt out. We鈥檙e going to find the nightlife area of destin and try and stay relatively close to that and go out afterwards 馃槏 I love that brunch idea I think it鈥檚 perfect!! And you don鈥檛 have to worry shout thank you cards either lol 馃槈

We probably only spent about $2500 for our minimony. We had 35 guests and my parents cooked for everyone. We definitely wanted to spend a little for that since our bigger wedding would easily be $15000+

Sounds awesome. Not sure if you know Frenchman street in NOLA. I much prefer it over Bourbon and it鈥檚 not far away.

You should totally plan a trip! I had a colleague go over Christmas and she said it was very empty. So make sure you go when covid is (at least somewhat) over Smiley smile
IMO Frenchman is a bit more grown up than Bourbon, but you have to explore both! And the food is delicious.

I am with you, I actually enjoy Frenchmen more as well! But for most of our guests this will be their first time to New Orleans, and of course they鈥檙e all really excited about Bourbon Street. We definitely have plans to hit up Frenchman before we leave as well though
