Michaels wedding invitations

Jos, on March 24, 2015 at 10:22 AM Posted in Planning 0 16

Has anyone used Michaels invitation kit the look pretty nice in the store. Is it easy? I just don't think invites are something to spend a lot on.

Any of the brands carried at Michaels are easy to use, just make sure you follow the directions and use test strips before.

That's what I used. I bought the premade invites, and then made a template..put it in to PDF version, sent it to office depot. That had them done within 2 hours and were only 13 cents each to print. Definitely worth it, IMO! Smiley smile

I bought mine from Michael's but haven't printed them yet. It seems like it should be pretty easy. It saved me a lot of money. The invites that I liked online would have been around $300. At Michaels I spent $92 on 80 invites, 80 rsvp cards, and 80 thank you cards.

I've seen a lot of different end pricing for Michael's invites but they all seem worth the savings. I'm seriously thinking of using these. Plus you can choose your own paper if I'm correct, right?

@future mrs batog-huffman they have several different designs you can choose from, and of course always look up a coupon for Michael's bc they always have one!

I'm using a Michael's invite kit. I had coupons, got 60 invites for 50 bucks. I haven't printed on them yet, that's my project for this weekend. But it looks pretty easy! They have templates online, you can fill out and tinker with it, and then turn it into a PDF to print.

I used them. They had really nice kits and were very easy to do. I printed them from home so it definitely saved $$

Sorry if this is sort of a dumb question, but when you turn it into a PDF file to print it, where do you take it after that? You just take the file with you to say a local Staples or something with your invite kit and they print it for you? We are doing the invites ourselves like this, but I wasn't sure how you actually get them printed out on a nice printer.

I wanted to look into this, but none of them had like an "info" card so I can put information about hotel blocks, etc. or is there a good way to put this on the invitation?

I got mine from Hobby Lobby. 150 for $28. Haven't printed them yet, but it looks super easy. Then just need to place the flat ribbon around it.

I used the kits from Michael's to make my invitations. I got them on clearance for like $6 bucks a kit and I printed them out at work and then used a corner cutout to make the invitation itself a little fancier and then dressed them up. I'm happy with them, especially for what I have invested in them!

@hanginghere- the kit i picked included an enclosure card, that could be used for extra information. i'm sure others from the same product line have them too. Here's the one I'm using-

I did the plain white kit from Michael's (like $8 with coupon). My cousin is a graph designer so she designed them for me. I did my RSVP as postcards and printed them 4 per page of card stock and cut them apart. I also made another sheet for directions and hotel information. Again printed on regular white card stock 2 per page and cut apart. I barely used one color and black cartridge to print 150 invitations (twice cuz i had the year wrong), all the RSVP cards, labels, and directions.

@futurerice, if you'll call your local store (staples or office depot) they'll give you an email and you just attach the pdf to an email, drop off your paper, and come back when they finish them Smiley smile
