Mermaid style dress / slip

Michelle, on June 27, 2012 at 10:48 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

Anyone know what kind of slip I would need for a mori lee 4902 dress?

Where did you ladies get your slips?

I paid $16 for one on ebay, and gave it away a while back because it didn't work with my dress. It will work with yours though, beautiful!

I got a slip like the one Donna R. posted. I bought mine from the bridal shop where I purchased my dress (I wanted to try it on with the dress before I bought it). DB also sells them for $49, or you can try ebay, craigstlist, or one of the sites where brides list their pre-owned dresses.

Alfred Angelo has a great mermaid slip - fuller than DB mermaid slip. Take your dress in to a bridal shop to try on slips - they do not mind.

I have a mermaid dress but I'm not wearing a slip...why do you think you need a slip with your dress?

I also have a mermaid dress. I have before and after pics... I'll let you be the judge of what they slip did for the dress. My slip looks just like the one in the pic above.

    I also LOVE your dress.

For those of you wondering what the slip does for the dress, a friend of mine used to work for a bridal shop, and they will tell you that it gives the dress its shape, so that the material is more "flat" and doesn't dip between your legs when you walk.

ETA: This is what your dress, Mori Lee 4902 looks like in the catalog, notice how the bottom skirt fabric is more smooth and taught, that's because she has a mermaid/trumpet/fit & flare slip under the gown
