Men's wedding bands

MoMo1125, on January 28, 2016 at 11:04 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 45

Hi ladies -- I've seen (and loved) all of the ring posts with pictures, but haven't seen much regarding bands for men. My FH is a little overwhelmed with the options (gold vs manmade materials, mostly) and I'm hoping for some inspiration. What have y'all chosen and why? Pictures? Thanks!

Fh does not like jewelery at all. So for the ceremony we found an inexpensive ring the he liked.

My FH has no idea what he wants, but he wanted a ring now (we are technically already married, extenuating circumstances) so he ordered a few he really liked on Overstock on Sunday just to see what suits him.

Once life settles down after residency starts, I want to invest in something nice for him, so I'm glad he's looking and considering options now. Here are two he picked just to see how he felt.

I told my FH to get on Etsy and start looking at what was available. He's as hard on jewelry as I am so we wanted durability for both of us.

He's getting a Damascus ring. I'd never heard of it before he mentioned it. Here's the link and also a pic.

We got his band on Amazon for $17!

There are a bunch that are Tungsten, which is a hardy material that lasts a long time. FH feels like it will be weird and uncomfortable to wear a ring since he's not used to it, and actually both of our dads felt the same way and no longer wear their wedding rings. So we decided it didn't make sense to spend a ton of money when this one looks just fine and normal and who knows if he'll get too annoyed with it anyway. I also bought a similar one (but thinner) for myself when I'm on vacation (it doesn't fit with my e-ring, so I will wear it instead of the e-ring when I'm on vacation etc)

Holly, that is a good idea to get a matching one for yourself when you are on vacation! So clever

@amandal0514 my FH picked a Damascus steel ring too! He likes the style and I love the history behind the steel.

Dear husband chose tungsten, because it's very durable, and he didn't want to wreck it

My DH has a tungsten band! He chose it for its durability but also the style- it's a brushed nickel on the edges with a gunmetal silver in the middle.

FH chose this one because because it was unique/different than other ones we've seen/looked at :-)

Here's my husband's wedding band. Its tungsten carbide so it would break instead of smashing his finger if he got his hand pinched. He did indeed end up breaking it at work after 6 months so he's on ring #2 now. We bought them off Ebay, think the ring was around $40 and it's engraved also.

FH picked a platinum band with milgrain detailing that matches my rings.

We're talking about getting matching bands. I'm not interested in bling myself, and we're looking at getting meteorite...

We're looking at either of these options...

We are getting custom gold bands, so no pictures.

We chose gold because we spend a ton of time outside. FH work in a field where he can't wear metal rings, so it doesn't actually matter what he picked. We didn't want a harder metal because the hard metals like platinum can't be cut if you're in an accident, so emt's have to cut off the finger in an emergency. We're actually debating getting silicon bands to wear when we can't wear our real bands (ex: rock climbing).
