"Meet Our Wedding Party" page on website

AshLynne, on March 27, 2017 at 1:06 AM Posted in Planning 0 37

I would like to add a page to our wedding website dedicated to the wedding party. That said, I have no idea what to write for the descriptions. I was hoping for some ideas. I was thinking I'd include how long we've been friends, maybe a favorite memory, and maybe like a couple random facts about each person. I want to write something that all the wedding party members will approve of, that's always interesting to the guests, and that basically just isn't boring or a waste of my time. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas of things I could include or maybe what you included in yours if you did one. Thanks!!

I feel like no one will read it or care.

I'm not sure if I would do a whole "bio" nonetheless about each member unless you only have a few in your party. Maybe their name, picture, their title in the wedding party, connection to you, how long you've known them, and a short sentence on how much you appreciate them, etc.

Is your WP ok with this? I feel like my MOH would have a problem with it, she's a super private person.

I did it with all 6 of mine. How we met and what age we met mostly.

I mean, even if the guests don't really care I thought it would be a nice way to acknowledge the WP and let them know how much we appreciate them, and when I asked about it they were all okay with the idea...but maybe it'd be better to just skip it.

Yeah honestly no one is even going to read it probably except for your bridal party, I don't know if I'd put the work in

My friend just put how she met us on her's so if you really want to put something about your BP, you could just put how you met them.

I put their name and relation to myself/FH. I am convinced no one really reads them. I sent out 65 save the dates with the website link. I have had about 20 people ask me where we are registered. I have told them it's on the wedding website and they say they haven't looked at the website.

I did 2 to 3 sentences for each. How long we've known each other and what I love most about them. Had to write something for the FH and kept the same format. Our wedding party is only 5 people.

Why not ask the BP (1) whether they're okay with their name and info being on your website, and (2) to type up 1-2 sentences for you to put up.

I asked my BP what they would like to include, if anything, and way it had only the information they wanted it to have. Otherwise I just put who they are (friend, cousin, etc) and when/where we met. Nothing long, 3 sentences max

I would talk to the WP and see what their thoughts are but I think it's a nice idea.

We put 0 work in to ours because we figured no one would read it. However, a few of us did drink a lot of wine and write funny bios that made each other laugh. We put them on the website just for fun. Honestly, besides the people you're writing about and maybe 1-2 curious family members, no one will read them.

I would skip the bios and just write their relationship to you. Like name and "bride's sister". Keep it simple.

I originally put a paragraph for each of my bridesmaids, when I approached FH to do the same for the groomsmen I was met with a "nope". So I ended up deleting it all (after putting some legit time and thought into it) and just doing a description for each person. "best friend, brother of the bride" etc. At the end of the day I doubt anyone would've cared to read the entire description lol

I did this. I doubt anyone has actually looked or anything, but I was with you. And I hate when I have no idea who someone's wedding party is. I put a cute picture of them, their name, how they know me/ FI and just what they do. I think it's a nice gesture, but I wouldn't put too much thought into it.

I did this on my page- Mostly wrote how we knew each other, etc. Not sure how many people will actually read it but I thought it was a cute way to kind of honor the BP

It sounds like I'm in the minority but I actually love looking at wedding websites and seeing the relationships the bride and groom have with their wedding party.

Ours looks something like this- "Jane smith, matron of honor, college roommate and sorority sister, and a cute/funny one-liner."

We have a wedding party page but kept the info to two lines. We also listed immediate family (parents, siblings, and my son) but have no info, just their names and relationship to us.
