Meal selections without place cards

Assign tables that way your caterer knows how many of what meal per table. Or name cards with their meal selection at the very least. You may not want to do it but almost anything else will be chaos for your servers and guests.

We're assigning tables with food choices, there's really no other way to do it. At the least name cards they display with color for their food choice.

You need to assign Tables - not doing so is hard on guests and you will need 10-15% extra chairs.

Thank you all for your advice. We are assigning tables, but will be displaying it as such. I guess we will have to do place cards at tables with names and meal selections essentially assigning everyone a specific seat.

No I don't think you need to assign specific seat. Just have to place cards to pick up at the entrance with table number only. They could put it up theirselves.

I'm doing a seating chart instead of escort cards as well.

Does your venue need to know exactly who is getting what? Mine just needs to know meal distribution per table, not per guest. I would see if you can just provide that to them up front. Ultimately though, if they need those specifics, then you have to do it. Not something you want to be chaotic

Thanks. Unfortunately they do and I wasn't made aware of this until recently. I was hoping there was a different way, but I will just make place cards for the table settings.

You can also let guests know that the can change seats as long as they take their cards with them! Our venue comes around a double checks with everyone before serving the meal. (However if someone changes their mind we get charged $10)
