may & june wedding - changes due to Covid19

Hey y'all,

I'm sort of freaking out about what to do about my wedding. Should my fiance and I postpone the reception? And just have a back yard ceremony? I'm set on not moving the ceremony. Should we just wait it out and hope we can proceed with the wedding as planned?

What are y'all doing ?

My wedding isn't till May 2021 but being how the stay at home orders are being extended I sm concerned. We booked an all inclusive wedding venue and we already paid for 1/2 the wedding. I contacted the coordinators and they responsded back within 2 business days. They told me not to worry since the wedding isn't till next year but they are monitoring the situation closely and working with brides who's weddings are in March up untill May 2020 to reschedule wedding for a later time next year. I hope this thing ends soon and I wish all the brides who are going through thus situation that their dream weddings don't get cancellled. Right now they're recommending not being in a gathering of more than 5 people in a room. Wishing you all the best and hope that things get figured out for your wedding. Best of luck.

I think you should have the "backyard" ceremony or where you can have it at and then have the big ceremony. I really think people will be understanding about COVID 19 making you postpone your wedding and i'm sure they will still go to the reception.

Even if things start to improve soon, I wouldn't anticipate large gatherings will be allowed by June. I would consider postponing the reception.

June 6 here. We are waiting until the end of the month to make any decisions. We can change our date safely without any fees as long as the change happens more than 30 days before the day. If the kids go back to school the 26 of April we will not reschedule.

I would definitely have a back up plan in place at the very least

Former June Bride here!! I would have a back up for sure! We moved our wedding from June to December after our schools announced they would closed until Fall. Today they announced they might not open in the fall either...
