May 24th wedding coronavirus!!!

Tonilynn, on March 14, 2020 at 10:00 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 23
So I have never used this app my whole wedding planning life, until now!! I am totally STRESSING OUT!! My wedding is in N.C. on May 24,2020!! I have literally been waiting 6yrs to marry this man! I have been married once before when I was super young no wedding.. The man I am marrying is a dream come true, but before all of you start saying no matter what you get to marry the love of your life yes I know that is true!! I’m blessed for that!! BUT I have been planning this for not only us but our families!! This a huge moment for everyone to include our children (2 prior 1 with him)! Our families were all in my opinion too excited lmao... My wonderful
Mother says don’t worry it’s 10wks away it will calm down by then, my dad says either way you marrying him, I say (while crying) I’ve waited 6yrs years for this moment!! I don’t want to postpone nor cancel. My venue says we are an all go as of now!! Who is freaking out with me and any words to calm my soul lmao... or any opinions on anything lol ... now I’m seeing court houses are closing I hope I can get a damn marriage license.. and yes I’m being selfish and I’m well aware!! But normally if you knew what I did for a living you would know I’m not selfish not one bit!

My wedding is also May 24 in St. Louis. 🥰 I think by then everything will have calmed down. The pre caution the country is taking is to prevent the spread of the virus. Try not to stress. I know it’s easier said than done but i think you’ll be fine.

Everything rn is looking very daunting, I know. I'm also considering cancelling, BUT your wedding is 10 weeks out (as you said) and everything is being shut down right now for a reason, so make sure this does not continue as it currently does. I would wait at least a month and monitor how this situation is developing before making any decision on postponing/cancelling. I wish you all the best and stay safe! Smiley heart

I'm getting married next month in NC on the 11th and i don't have any plans to cancel. So far I haven't had any guests cancel or decline because of the virus so we are planning on going forward

I am also getting married in NC on May 24 🧡. And I have also been panicking. The only thing that has kept me sane so far is that none of my out of town ppl have backed out. I'm trying to be optimistic but I'm a planner so my brain wants to map out all possibilities.
I'm glad to know I'm not alone. All will be well Smiley smile

I'm also a May 24 NC bride. Our ceremony venue (on a college campus) has cancelled all weddings through May 7, which makes me nervous. I have begun looking for alternate ceremony venues and will not cancel unless it becomes absolutely necessary. But you are not alone in your anxiety. I know the situation will develop rapidly and get worse over the next few week/month, but like many, I am hoping that current precautions will mean things improve before our wedding date. Best of luck.

I am supposed to be 5/23 and we officially postponed. I'm so sorry, but I do not think this will be back to normal by then. I've been reading everything I can on this, and it looks like experts are expecting the peak to be in June and July, even with all the measures that we are taking now. This is all still getting started.

I feel much better after postponing. It takes away the anxiety (about the wedding at least), and you begin to acclimate yourself to a new reality that your wedding is going to happen on X date instead.

I don’t think you’re being selfish in the slightest. This is your wedding day. I would like to however ease your mind of worrying being that you be have ten weeks. I know it’s easier said than done but i truly believe things will calm down by then. I would give yourself the next six weeks to see. And if you’re 4 weeks away and things aren’t right i would postpone.

I can’t imagine going through this but the good thing is you have a little time to wait and see. Try to think of it this way so you can relax some. My wedding is a year out and I’m running around like a chicken now, so i get it. Congratulations. Everything will be okay

Ours is on 5/31/20 and I’m in the same boat, wondering if we should postpone or not and I HATE it! I also worry that we won’t be able to get our license. For now, everything seems to be fine as we just spoke to our venue. My fiancé says to wait and see what happens with this whole shut down thing. I guess we will have to wait it out and keep on eye on things in the next coming weeks.

I'm getting married on May 23, 2020 and yes I stressing right there with you. All my vendors believe it will calm down by then but if not, they are willing to work with us. I am being selfish as well so I get it. You plan and plan and then something unexpected happens. Stay positive and everything will work out.

May 24 wedding, too! We're in the same boat of weighing our options. We did think about a contingency, which would be to proceed with our wedding on May 24, but treat it almost as an elopement -- immediate family only (so 10 people total) and pushing the wedding I planned until this fall. Just try to remember it's the marriage, not the wedding, that counts.

I have started looking at a plan b for fall if May falls through!! Sept / Oct... Either way I’m getting married this year and my vendors are being amazing !! I’ll have to rebuy my bride hanger and ring box tho bc it has May 24 2020 if I have to postpone ! I just hope everyone stays healthy at this point !! I’m praying for everyone in the world!!

My wedding is May 24th too! I am becoming very nervous about having to postpone... All events at my venue have been canceled up intil May 11th. So we are on the "wait and see" list. The anticipation is literally killing me. </3

Mine is May 24th in NC too right now...

I'm worried it'll be postponed too.... did your venue postpone yours? Or did you reschedule it just to be safe?
