Married at a Church?

My future MIL asked me if people still get married at churches. I really had to think about that one. I am sure people still do, but almost all of the weddings I've attended at the last five years have had the ceremony at the wedding venue. What are your experiences?

    I have been to one friend's church wedding. Most of our friends aren't that religious. We are having FH's pastor marry us outside. My friend did the same for an outside wedding. She and her husband go to church every week though. I am catholic and I don't attend much at all anymore, once a year.

    I’ve photographed weddings at both. Attended as guest with ceremonies only at churches. We are having ours at the restaurant venue in an outdoor courtyard. I think with pastors and officiants being more flexible now it allows for different options.
