Marriage Now Wedding Later

Just a vent .. So my fiancé and I decided that we’re gonna tie the knot this year .. on the same date as our wedding is supposed to be... I’m excited, but really don’t know how to feel.. I do NOT want an indoor/church ceremony.. However, IDK where to go or even where to start looking to do something in 2 months.. I just want our parents and my daughter to be there at least .. I don’t want it to be tacky at all .. but like what about a dress and decor and all of that.. I’m praying it all comes together and all works out..

Are you postponing your big wedding due to Covid? You can always find a nice park to have your ceremony in. In 2 months, we should be out of our phases and pretty much back to normal (fingers crossed), so I would think you could do almost anything you wanted. Did you venue cancel on you, or did you decide to postpone on your own?

Take photos and have the ceremony at a beautiful outdoor landmark such as a serene park with waterfall or historical building that will look great in photos. What about your local conservatory? Is there a park that naturally has a lot of flowers? And yes, it'll be beautiful with just parents and your daughter. Don't skimp on your wedding attire. Invest in a great camera if you're not using a photographer. Believe it not, my new Google phone is EVERYTHING when in portrait mode. My fiance' and I are doing the same thing by having a courthouse wedding due to everything happening this year and we'll have just parents and the pastor. Afterward, we'll have dinner at my house then head home for a quiet evening alone. It'll be as beautiful as we make it.

A park is a great way to go. The atmosphere is already set. If you can find a park with a lake, or garden with a stream that'll be really romantic. I think a small party of just both your parents and your daughter in an intimate park setting set to the background of a lake or body of water will be beautiful

I don't know if this is how you mean.. but my fiance and have seriously discussed just going down to the courthouse this year (if/when they open) and then having our 'wedding' next year on an estate for our 1 year anniversary. That way we get the legal stuff 'out of the way' and then can leisurely plan the outdoor reception and all of that.

At the end of the day, your heart should be full, your hair wild from dancing and your eyes sparkling. Do what feels right for you!
