March weddings that aren't cancelling?

Marcia, on February 19, 2021 at 8:23 AM Posted in Planning 2 27

Coming up to less than a month until my wedding and we are forging full speed ahead. We invited 80 people (all family), and so far we have 55 yes RSVPs and 10 declines. It doesn't look like state guidelines will allow our event, but we are having the event at a private residence, so we are just going to go for it. We included the risk of a fine in our wedding budget. Most of my family is supportive of me going ahead, but a few are upset. We asked our guests to stay home if they felt unsafe, and we really hope that people will feel empowered to do that and not feel the need to come if they are worried. Many of my guests already had covid or have the vaccine. We are ready to do this!

Anyone else going through with a March wedding? Anyone who went through with weddings over the past year have any advice?

I’m not a March but a April AZ bride but we’re still pushing through! I’ve has done declines but so far 55 of the 90 guests have confirmed they’re going.

I’m literally 20 days away. The venue seems to be fine with everything and have an outdoor and indoor plan. Since we’re having 60 people we’re way below the indoor capacity limit so we’re going forward and spacing everything out. We’re making sure people follow the mask rules and have both the DJ and an appointed guest to make sure the rules are followed.

I am March 13th and we have only 19 of our 38 invited guests coming. Honestly I’m just ready for it all to be done. It’s been such a hard and disappointing experience that I’m just over it.

I’m in March 19th, and not letting COVID take anything away! Just keep your faith & it will go to plan! I’ve been disappointed because I lost 2 of my guests and one of them was my grandma who I wanted to come the most😔 BUT you can’t let disappointments hold you back! Pursue & stay prayful.

And no I did not lose them due to covid🙄 oh and we invited 50 guests and 38 RSVP so far but with plus ones it’ll be about 45 maybe. We had a couple decline, but I am appreciative of who comes to celebrate our union with us! I encourage you do the same! You’ll enjoy your day a lot more once you stop worrying about what you can’t control.

I’m a March wedding in Tx we invited about 350 and a lot we’re out of towners (all of my fiancé’s family and friends actually) so we knew a higher percentage was going to decline. Our guest count right now is about 195-200 which is still a big wedding. Our venue is still operating and prepared as usual and we haven’t gotten any negativity from those who have declined just best wishes and gifts sent to us Smiley smile I’m sure they’ve had some remarks behind our knowledge but nothing that will stop us from our big day!!

We planned a small event due to Covid. 12 guests outdoor venue at the DC war memorial Mar 20. For dinner the restaurant is at reduced capacity but can still accommodate our party indoors. There is an outdoor section with heaters worst case scenario. Looking forward to the big day.

Still going through with mine in March. All outdoors. About 100 will be there. Tables will be separated, masks available, and hand sanitizer. My venue and vendors are still willing to, so am I!

My fiancé and I just got engaged in January and we're speeding up the timeline of the wedding so that we can be married before we close on our new house in April. Our wedding date is March 27th. It will be a very small wedding with 12 guests and we're doing the ceremony and reception outside in the backyard of a cocktail bar in Brooklyn. NYC just announced that it will allow weddings of up to 150 (with masks, testing, social distancing and other Covid safety requirements) starting March 15 but we are keeping our guest count the same. In the beginning I was very sad about having such a small wedding without all of my best friends from out of state, but now we are actually glad about the guest count being low as it will feel more intimate and the Covid protocols will be easier to manage. My family is flying in from TX and SC - thankfully they will all have gotten the vaccine by the wedding date.

Question for you all - do any of you plan to livestream your wedding ceremony for your loved ones who aren't able to attend in person? If so, what platform are you using or are you using a vendor? Thanks!

I'm also a march bride, we are doing something small as we want something special but safe and affordable. We are choosing to go with a ceremony on ground in san Antonio Texas before taking a helicopter tour, and then a restaurant for dinner and dancing plus a romantic room stay with jacuzzi, wine, chocolate. Then he's back off to his base in north Carolina! Things have been stressful but we are finally seeing things get easier. It's a bit of a drive for our guest to make but we decided it's best to go with what makes us happy even if our guest aren't able to make it! But if anyone knows of cheaper ways to have a wedding we're open to ideas.

3/13 bride here as well! Our indoor reception venue is allowing us to hold our wedding still for no more than 100 people. We have not gotten back many rsvp's but still hopeful. Planning has been stress

West Texas here. Wedding in 9 days and were not cancelling. So far we have 103 confirmed guests. We’ve only had a few guests decline the invitation due to Covid and we don’t have many guidelines here. Most of our guests are coming so we aren’t planning on live streaming it for anyone.

I definitely am moving forward with my wedding in a month to be exact!!! I am at the point of making sure everyone is safe the distance, the masks, the temperature check and pushing for 50 guests! Hopefully since everyone is in the same household that will be seated at the same table everything should be a safe and successful wedding! I wish all the best!!

Doing our best to follow covid guidelines but still enjoy our day to the fullest.
