March 28 Wedding, what to do?

Abigail, on March 14, 2020 at 10:11 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10
Hi everyone,

I’m getting married March 28 in Biloxi, MS. I’m wondering if anyone else is getting married around the same time and if/how COVID19 is changing your plans? We have talked to our vendors and have made the decision to continue with the wedding. I’m seeing so many people cancelling and I’m feeling nervous. We’ve put so much time and effort into this one day, I don’t want to postpone.

I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this too. We’re getting married next weekend (3/21) and we’ve made the same decision you have. It’s so stressful, and everyone has differing opinions of what’s right. I made a post about what we’re doing to stay sane (link below). Our plan has really helped keep me calm. Most of all, I think it’s just important to have a plan for how you’ll get married if everything else falls through. Wishing you the best of luck ❤️

Mine is also 3-21 and we don’t plan on rescheduling! Our vendors are okay with moving forward and so are we.

We moved our date to 8/15. All of our vendors were prepared to go ahead, but we felt like we would be risking key family that should not be travelling. Thankfully all of our vendors were willing to move the date, with my mua wanting a deposit for the day. Most of our list were flying in though, including his very fragile mother. The last thing i could want is subjecting anyone to the hot spot that is Dallas. Everyone is pretty much on lockdown here, fh and I are wfh mandatory till further notice, and everyone is pretty much in agreement with me. It's a personal decision with every couple, and I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Deep breaths. We'll get through this.

Hey I’m not far from you! I live in Gulf Shores, Al. Out wedding is 4/18/20 at Cheaha State Park, about 5 hours north of here. I spoke with the group coordinator yesterday and the park actually might have to close!! I’m so sad. I’m hoping they don’t, but I have a back up plan just Incase. As a nurse, I personally think this is all crazy and the media is getting what they wanted.

I’m also getting married 3/28. We are not cancelling unless there is a lockdown. People have already backed out and that is fine with us. We’re getting a lot of backlash for going through with it but I don’t care.

We’re getting married 3/29. No postponement....if there are those guests who can’t make it because they are not comfy traveling right now, that is their right to feel that way, and we will happily live stream/FaceTime for anyone who can’t.
