I would contact all of your vendors immediately and see if you can reschedule for the summer or fall

With this type of disappointment it’s hard to replan for a later date bc anything could happen then as well and I don’t know how much more heart break I can take. We’re considering still getting married on the same date and doing something for the one year anniversary but we’re still on the fence. I wish this virus would just go away !

We had similar wedding days, mine was the 29th! We decided to postpone since a lot of our guests had to travel and we did not want to risk anyone’s health! Our vendors have been great, just be open and honest with them Smiley smile We will get through this!!!

Our wedding is March 28th, and we are still charging forward. It's not an ideal situation, however unless the CDC is paying me back for my wedding then we are still good to go. I have confirmed with all of my vendors, and they have been so great and reassuring through this process. Most of the guests attending are local, however we did lost a few that were scheduled to fly in. We have told our friends and family that the decision is ultimately theirs and that if they are not feeling well then to stay home. I go back and forth each day, where some days I want to fall apart and other days I am trusting that it will all be fine. What matters most is that I get to marry the love of my life, and no virus is going to stop that!

Contact your venue today! They may not allow you to have it based on restrictions that have been put into place.

Honestly, and this is going to be harsh, public health and safety is paramount over anyone's wedding. In fact, I'm a professional in the wedding industry, and I've just advised all my brides and grooms to cancel or postpone their March and April weddings. We're about 10-14 days behind Italy when it comes to the virus and their initial casual feelings about the virus have now lead to a country-wide lockdown and hundreds of deaths. Contact between people (even those feeling totally fine) can spread the virus on to people who are at risk (immunocompromised in some way) super quickly, and in order to give medical professionals an opportunity to get a handle on things, staying home and not going to any non-essential appointments or outings is pertinent.

Sorry about how things have turned out for you individually here--it's definitely been frustrating for brides and grooms getting married anytime soon. Unfortunately, I'd strongly suggest postponing.

    I'm postponing until July.

    Our date was April 5

My vendors are all being great about it.

Sorry to be dark, but a virus could absolutely stop you from getting married.

Even if people are feeling totally healthy, they could absolutely be carrying the virus. I would urge you to reconsider your wedding date and postpone as a matter of public safety. I'm paraphrasing, but I saw a great quote from, I believe, a health official Italy saying something like "we may never know if we over-prepared and over-reacted, but we will definitely and devastatingly know if we under-prepared and under-reacted."

Well to revise my post from earlier, my wedding if officially postponed. This was not my call, and j certainly hope all of the brides out there who are so quick to give their opinion never have to experience anything like this. It’s really easy to make a quick judgement call when you aren’t the one in the situation. To the rest of the brides who are going through this with me, and send my thoughts and regards out to you. This isn’t easy for anyone!

Sending good thoughts your way--I'm very sorry that's how things have turned out. I'm work in the wedding industry, so while my wedding hasn't personally been affected, my entire livelihood and career has been--my post is purely based on saving the lives of those who are vulnerable by expert recommendations, not my opinion. All the best to you and your fiancé during this time.
