March 21st wedding! its Happening!!! ❤️

B2B2020, on March 17, 2020 at 5:25 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 17
Our wedding is this weekend. At this point ALL of our vendors have reached out and they have no plans to close! We had a few drop due to being military and cannot domestically travel. This included one of my bridesmaids and my maid of honor 😩. However I have some fabulous friends that are willing to step in. So off to David's bridal we go! The only thing that needs to change is possibly only having 50 people in the church (confirming today) as that is what our county placed out. However our reception is another county with no limit!

This has been an absolute rollercoaster. We have cried, been angry, happy and exhausted. However we are pushing through. I am thinking of you all during this crazy time!

I'm sorry, as I know this is a hard time, but this just seems grossly irresponsible to me. Have you dnot be listening to the CDC recommendations or are you just choosing to ignore them?

We have listened to them all, we are taking appropriate steps for extra sanitation . It is not grossly irresponsible . For those who feel they may be at risk can choose not to attend and we fully support that, however all of our friends and family are excited and happy.

BTW when the flu hits every year, the nation continues on. Weddings, baptisms , funerals , parties continue.....wash your hands, get your flu shot and live life Smiley smile

    This isnt the flu...

Best of luck. I'd be devastated to have someone get sick or even die because I had to throw a party during a national emergency.

So much this. I can't imagine how devastating it would be to postpone my wedding due to the virus. The only thing I can imagine being worse is one or more of my guests getting ill because they had to choose between my wedding and their health.

I agree with LB and Caytlyn. Not only did the CDC recommend not having groups of 50 or more together, but President Trump announced yesterday that we should also refrain from groups of 10 or more. It was said that if everyone follows these precautions, we can hope to be done with this whole thing by July or August. Meaning if people deliberately decide not to do their part by following these precautions, this is going to get much worse and last much longer. I would highly consider postponing for the sake of the health and well-being of yourself, your friends and family, and everyone who ever comes in contact with all of you.

This is great news, with the exception of your bridesmaid and MOH but best of luck to you and may your union be blessed!

I am so disheartened by all of these brides having to postpone weddings and their special events, but it is our duty to do so to protect those around us. Last week it was “only the immunocompromised” but your ‘only’ could be somebody else’s ‘everything’. Also you do not know who is immunocompromised that may already have the virus and still be in the incubation period with no symptoms. It is incredibly dangerous at this stage to be having gatherings of this type.

And what was said before is true. This is not the flu. It not only affects EVERYONE (not just immunosuppressive people) but it is predicted to be 10-15x more fatal, contagious, and pervasive than influenza. Adhering to the CDCs hygiene recommendations won’t make a difference. This kind of irresponsibility is what is gonna prolong this awful pandemic and quarantine state our country is now placed in. It is awful right now but could get SO MUCH WORSE ...

Hello brides, Me and my husband decided to cancel our wedding that was set for 5/30/20 due to the carona virus and governments recommendations to social distance and have gatherings smaller than 10 people. Trump in this mornings speech said that if we follow these recommendations we are looking at things getting better by July/August and that is the BEST case scenario as long as everyone all together as a nation can follow these recommendations. Our wedding was 2 months away and we emailed our venue and all other vendors today for a full refund. Me and my husband are getting married in the court now and post-poning our wedding for sometime next year (we didn’t set a date yet for next year just in case the corona virus lasts longer than expected). I wanted to post this because if we want our nation and our world to get better from this pandemic we have to make decisions that are inconvenient to us sometimes. Everyone in the world is being inconvenienced from corona in the effort to stop this pandemic: gyms are closing down, Disneyland shut down, bars are restaurants are closing down, and thousands are losing jobs and money in order to contribute to our nation getting better by social distancing. Brides, our weddings are not somehow excluded from the list of gatherings that should be cancelled. I know weddings are super special and you guys have been planning for months (I cried when I postponed my wedding since I’ve been planning everyday since my engagement), however during this time of a nation wide pandemic we must be adaptable and flexible. The whole world is being adaptable, flexible, and being inconvenienced and this does not exclude brides. Please contribute to cancelling your wedding if it’s in the next couple months in order to help this nation wide pandemic. You can always post-pone your wedding. Remember the president said this virus could start looking better by July/ August if EVERYONE follows the social distancing recommendations and gathering recommendations. People that don’t contribute are what is slowing down this nations process of getting better.

Best of luck to you for your wedding. Perhaps is there a way you can space out your guests extra?? At the very least having the extra space for somewhat more social distancing?

This is such a selfish idea. It's people like you who ignore the CDC's guidelines (and president Trump) who are going to make this virus go on indefinitely. We're already way behind the ball with containment--we lost a crucial 6 weeks--and China started its containment RIGHT AWAY and people LISTENED and it's still took roughly 4 months. Postponing sucks and is super disappointing, but it is not NEARLY as important as protecting your loved ones (and hey, MY loved ones, too). Plan for your LIFELONG marriage and not ONE DAY of a party.

Nope not selfish at all! Guest are coming with no issue! We are following proper guidelines placed by the state and moving forward. Thanks for your input though!
