A few officiants are asking that we complete marriage counseling before the ceremony. Not our thing, anyone else have to complete counseling before officiant will perform ceremony?

Funny thing is I never said anything even remotely personal towards you. I literally only spoke of myself and my own perspective towards my marriage. I'm confused how that offends you?
Odd that someone who has "no issue with communication" would be so quick to negativity and blatant in attempting to put down someone on the internet who you literally know nothing about.
But you know what they say about people in glass houses...
We did. It was....ok. We had already talked to each other about all the things it went over, but it did help us solidify that we were doing the right thing by marrying each other. :]
I get it, counseling isn't our thing either. We've lived together for years with combined finances and a combined life so the only change we'd be seeing after marriage is getting a nice piece of paper to put on the wall. You just went a different way with officiants
Man I wish I had a perfect relationship like you do, April! Hats off to you. Also- it's comments like yours that keep the stigma of counseling going strong in our society. They are the reason my husband won't go. Maybe consider others' feelings before you go off on how you don't need it because you can "communicate" perfectly. That's not all it's about.
