Making Groom stand out from groomsmen

FutureMrsB, on February 27, 2018 at 2:03 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 86
Are any of you guys planning to have your groom in different attire or doing something different for him to distinguish him from all of his groomsmen? Looking for ideas on how to help him stand out a little bit!

What are the groomsmen wearing? He can wear a different color suit or even something as simple as a different tie.

If the groomsmen are dressing super casual with a vest and pants, he can wear a jacket.

I've toyed with the idea of having FH wearing a bow tie while his guys wear normal ties.

The plan is to have them all in charcoal gray suits w/ vests & ivory/white shirts! I've seen people do ties vs bowties, but for some reason I cannot stand bowties! We've also thought about having him in a white/ivory tie and the groomsmen in blue ties

My FH is wearing a dark grey suit and the GM are wearing navy. They will all have the same color ties and pocket squares. (FH was opposed to a bout).

FH will be wearing a 3 piece postman blue suit with a white tie. The GMs will have black suits with light green ties.

My FH will be wearing a different color from the groomsmen, maybe different bout' too. Either entire different color suit or different color jacket.

We're not decided yet, but right now we're thinking FH in a three-piece suit and the GMs in either a two-piece or just a white shirt and pants that match FH's suit, with a tie either way.

My groom will be wearing a full medium gray suit with a purple tie, but the groomsmen will be wearing the same thing minus the jacket and we will be adding brown leather suspenders. Also FH's boutonniere will be much fancier and match my bouquet. I am DIY the groomsmen boutonnieres out of golf tees

Yes! FH's tux is a cobalt blue, and groomsmen are in grey. But they will all have on the same floral burgundy tie.

You should tie them all in somehow. If they have the same tux/suit..let the groom have a different tie. Similarly, if they're all in different suits, have everyone wear the same tie.

We're not 100% sure on the groom/groomsmen attire yet, but so far the FH wants to wear a bow-tie, so we're thinking of having the rest of the grooms-party wear ties so that he stands out as the only when with a bow-tie. Subtle difference in looks, but I think it will help Smiley smile

For my FBIL’s wedding they just had subtle differences. They all wore navy suits. My FBIL had a navy tie, a solid pink pocket square and had a grey vest. The groomsmen (there were only 2) had pink ties, a blue/pink patterned pocket square and no vests.

FH and the grooms party are in the same color for everything, but FH will be wearing a jacket and vest, where the grooms party are only wearing the vest. Same color pants to match, same tie, and possibly different boutiners (probably just greenery for the grooms party and a small flower added for FH). FH will probably take off the jacket for the reception, but everyone knows who he is by then!

My FH is wearing a light gray (almost silver though not shiny) suit, while his groomsmen will be in a charcoal gray. Aside from that, they'll be the same - white shirts with plum ties. We thought about FH wearing a vest but we're getting married outside in August and my FH is already a sweaty enough man.

My one daughter is going for something along these lines. Both dads and the ring bearers (groom's nephews) will be dressed the same as the groom, but the other GM's will have the white shirts and vests.
