Making a Micro-wedding Special

Rebecca, on July 15, 2020 at 5:10 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6

My FH and I have rescheduled our larger celebration from 9/5/2020 to 9/4/2021 for the safety of friends and family, however, we will be hosting a small (20 guests) backyard ceremony and dinner on 9/5/20.

I am trying to think of details to make things extra special for our micro-wedding. Is anyone else having a small ceremony and incorporating special details?

Making my intimate ceremony bridal even though there is only 4 of us. Walking in and exiting to music, bouquet, bestie as MOH in a special dress, two tier cake and photographers. You can look up backyard wedding ideas on Pinterest too. Smiley smile

I’ve been working on a backup plan for 25, but it’ll be walking into the park for the ceremony. I’m still planning for the ceremony to be ordered just as I originally planned. I have a line of prayer flags that I’ll use as decorations no matter which plan I go with. But if I have to go with the backup plan the reception will be small back at our house. I’m not really planning much for the reception for decorations. But this is also all because even if I go with the small guest list now, then I’m going to do the bigger celebration next year.

We’re just having our parents present...I am wearing my original wedding dress, our florist is going to help decorate, we’re having a musician play and our photographer to take photos.

We are kinda doing it the opposite. We want our big wedding to still be special, because if I make my small one special and amazing I know I won’t want to do a big one, wasn’t too keen on it to begin with by FH and all the parents wanted big. I’m wearing jeans and he is wearing shorts, we are going very casual, I will still have a bouquet and a him a boutonnière. We just love flowers! We are doing cupcakes and sparkling cider and calling it a day. I would go on Pinterest and look at micro wedding and backyard wedding there are lots you can still do.

I'm still thinking about doing a deluxe favor for the guests at my teeny tiny wedding, but I'm not sure what it might be yet. Hoping to hear some other ideas because I'm in a similar position!

We're still wearing what we planned to. We'll have flowers (boutoniere/corsage/bouquet) for everyone, plus a floral arch and table centerpieces. My cousin is recording some violin music for us to play during the ceremony. We are having a photographer. We're having heavy appetizers in attractive individual containers for a covid-friendly dinner, followed by an ice cream truck for dessert. I made masks for everyone.
