I think the black is too harsh. Definitely go with a pale color on lower lash line. That might be all you need. The lashes IMHO are perfect. The bottom liner is what's putting over the top.

Agreed. I think less on the lower lash would help.

I'm not a huge fan of the lip color though, I'd go with more of a purple-y red.

It's not the eyes that stick out, it's that bright red. I'd go with a more muted, natural color. I was once told that you're supposed to draw attention to one or the other, not both the eyes and lips. So, bold eyes or bold lips but, not both. I really love the eye makeup! ETA - spelling

This evening when I got home, I discovered the corners of my eyes had done this weird smearing in the corner. I'm sure lightening up the liner would help. Anything else I could do (or ask my MUA to do) to help fix that? Or should I just ask my MOH to keep an eye on my makeup and tell me if I need to wipe the corners of my eyes?

Tell your Mua about the smudging. She should definitely try a different liner since that one smudged on you. That shouldn't happen. You don't want to be worried about that all day either.

Thanks, I'll let her know! I wasn't sure if it was the sort of thing that's "just going to happen" or if there's a way to prevent it.

No offense, but I think the problem is your eyebrows. Can you have them professionally done? You've got gorgeous, arresting eyes, but yes, there's too much going on. I think you'd look stunning with some eyebrow grooming.

ETA: With your coloring, you should be able to pull off a true red lip. There's a big difference between the fullness of the lower lip and the thinness of the upper lip. Can you MUA do anything to make them more balanced?

I know the girls here advise to go heavy and dramatic for photography, but overall it just seems too much to me. The face makeup seems too heavy and kind of caked on. The eyes, too dark. The lip, too red. But keep in mind, I don't normally wear a lot of makeup. My inspiration pic for my wedding looks like something like this, so I am not sure I am the best person for advice. I'd do a "Paging: JoRocka" for this.

Be advised if you lighten the lower lash line the lashes will look heavier on top. The darkness in the bottom helps balance. I do agree that some brow grooming and a softer lip color would help soften the look overall . But you do look incredibly beautiful !!

PS. To avoid that weird smudgy thing on your inner corner ask you mua to set your lash line color with an eye shadow it helps a ton(:

Your eyes are fine. The problem is that your brows need to be cleaned up as PPs have stated, you need more cheek, and a subtler lip. Normally you have either your eyes or your lips pop, not both.

The lashes are beautiful! I agree the black is a little too intense, I would request more of a dark brown. And I think with an eye brow wax to clean up your eyebrows it will help not make the eye area look so "crowded". Right now the lashes are kind of touching and getting mixed in with those stray eyebrow hairs
