Makeup! Foundation.

Brittney, on July 22, 2013 at 8:07 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24

So I had a makeup artist but the trail run was a disaster. so im just going to be doing it myself but what's the best long wearing foundation?

my skin is combo/oily and id like a high end choice and drugstore choice :]

It really depends on your skin (like if it's dry/combination/oily). It also depends if you want drug store or higher end..I used smashbox 14 hour wear foundation..I used that one from sephora for my wedding and it stayed well no problems. you'll need a primer and setting spray too so everything stays put..A good drug store one is revlon photo ready, or revlon color stay (I like mixing those two since the color stay one seems to dry too quickly to blend in easily).

What was wrong with your trial exactly?

also if you go on youtube there are a lot of wedding makeup tutorials/suggestions. I like emilynoel83.

Oh man... if she can't match your colour... I wouldn't want her doing mine either!

I use Estee Lauder double wear foundation. It lasts all day and covers imperfections. I've also had my maekup done at MAC before for other special occasions and they do a good job. I think you pay like $50 but it goes towards the makeup itself (if i remember correctly)

I don't really know any good drugstore foundations. I have tried so many cheap brands and never found any good ones. I have struggled with finding a good foundation for years. I have acne scars and they are hard to cover. I use Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation now and it is great. It is full coverage and long lasting. It is around $35 at Sephora. Sephora also has an airbrush type foundation that I really want to try. It's called Dior AirFlash Spray and it is around $60.

Estée Lauder double wear is a good one and macs studio fix fluid is another great one.. I use both.. Also a great blending foundation brush can give you an airbrush finish along with the Beauty blender sponge.

I love Urban Decay naked skin. No spf so no ghost face, it covers just enough and lasts for hours. One thing though, if your skin is a bit dry, it will make it drier, but I just keep my skin moisturized and it stays nice. Also, practice using a brush instead of a sponge.

Smashbox Photo Finish primer, then Smashbox Studio Skin 15 hour wear, followed up with Revlon Nearly Naked pressed powder. It lasted ALL day and looked good! Smiley smile

I love the HD Make up Forever. I will be using that along with the MUFE primer and the urban decay setting spray that a few people have already mentioned.

Urban Decay Naked Skin, with the Good Karma brush. My skin reacts to lots of liquid foundations but this one has been great. I use a Tarte primer underneath.

Estee Lauder primer for oily skin and double wear foundation. The lady at the mall counter matched the tone perfectly.

My friend gifted me the Urban Decay "De slick" make up setting pray and MAN I was set!

I had my hair dresser do my makeup (she does it on the side for our local theater) and she used my primer, foundation and spray. She did an amazing job.

My makup stayed all day and for the first time in my adult life I was not oily and shiny. I barely had to blot or powder. The UC spray rocks for oily skin!

I used Kat Von D foundation! And let me tell you, I got married outside, in June, in Texas! And there IS no better test than that.

It stayed ALL day (using a primer and finishing spray as well, of course).

    It is simply not budging.
