Makeup artist backup? Need advice!

Why would you need a back up? You mean in case she does not show? Yes, always have a back up as people can get sick or have a reason to now be able to show up the day of and you do not want to be stuck.

Why do you need a back up? My HMUA came from 1.5 hours away and I did not have a back up hired...

Just in case something happens (accident, sickness, etc.) and I'm basically screwed with makeup lol.

Hi Briana! I didn't have a backup makeup artist, but I also booked a full on-site team so they definitely have extra staff they can call on in case of emergency!

I'd go ahead and book them, especially if you love their work! You could also talk with the makeup artist about what would happen if they needed to cancel last minute, and what's their emergency backup plan.

Yeah that's tough! There's such a small chance that you'd need a backup, and but I'm not sure how you'd hire someone intentionally as a back-up. It could be the same price for securing someone else! 🤷
