Major Dress regret 11 days before my wedding

That really sucks. I don’t understand why she would take it in if you didn’t ask for it.
Worst, worst case would a cape work? I know it’s not ideal but may help?

Yes there is some spillage but it isn’t terrible. Today it was ridiculous how bad it was. I think she assumed I’d be wearing it all day for pictures in the morning and later ceremony. But ours is short. I’ll probably be wearing it for about 3, maybe 4 hours tops. So I’m not too worried about it stretching. But she didn’t ask me that when she suggested taking it in a little.

That’s horrible! Fingers crossed that it’ll be perfect when you pick it up!

That's odd that she would take it in when you didn't need it to be. You'll be perfectly fine, she'll fix it! That's the purpose of these fittings, to get it just right. I was super stressed before my final fitting last weekend because my dress didn't look right at the previous fitting. It turned out better than I had hoped!

Don’t get me wrong, you have every right to be mad, but hopefully she can undo it.

When I went to the alterations they also tried to sell me all sorts of things while I just wanted it hemmed. My wedding is also only about 3-4 hrs and there won’t be dancing.

If it was changed from a strap to strapless that's why she tightened it. You can always have her let it back out and wear spaghetti straps. That way you'll feel better and won't have to worry about a wardrobe malfunction

But when I bought it and at the first alterations appointment it fit fine but she felt it needed to be tighter. I guess because it would stretch as the day goes on and dancing and such. But our wedding isn’t an all day thing and we won’t be dancing so there was no need to take it in. I just hope when she lets it back out it will be the right amount and won’t then be too big. It fit fine to begin with.
I won’t have time for anymore changes when I go back Monday.

So I picked it up today. She did fix it so it fits better. But I don’t like it. It’s not flattering on me at all. I don’t like the color. I definitely made a mistake but I have to just make it work now because it’s what I have.

I am sorry you feel that way. Don't let your dress regret steal your joy and excitement about getting married and celebrating you love and your marriage.

I am sure with hair, make up and accessories you will look beautiful. I hope you'll be able to see that and not focus on what you perceive as your or your dress's flaws. And you will radiate because it's your wedding day and you are the bride. Who is in the dress is so much more important than the dress.

Sure, the dress is part of it all, but in the end my dress didn’t matter. The feeling of walking down the aisle and take your vows is just something different. I wasn’t thinking of it at all. All the best and keep thinking positively. Your smile on the day will distract from any dress issues.
