Mad Hatter tea party reception....

That sounds very unique, but beautiful if done right. In order to keep something like that from becoming cartoonish, you may want to speak to a wedding planner. Or a theatre set designer. Or both.

We dont want any characters but im thinkin flowers in tea pots but i also wanted to have huge arrangements maybe those tree like stick things with flowers and chrystals.... i dont know. we are getting married at compass rose gardens. you can check the site just take out the spaces and add .com. its beautiful and totally covered in flowrers in may . any ideas?

Ok well the mad hatters also wears bright pink and bright orange so your girls could be in those colors, but I would let them pick which one. You could have all out centerpieces too! Here is what I've found.

I like the flowers in tea pots idea. Maybe you can have a strange assortment in the tea pots? For example 10 different stems instead of 3 or 4 but all still within your color scheme.

That theme is SO fun, I did it for my Birthday once with liquor in the tea pots (tagged)! I set up a buffet table under a big tree with a black and white check cloth and tons of tea pots and cups & saucers culled from yard sales and playing cards all over the place. Everyone wore silly hats, it was a blast

Maybe let the bms be all different colors: sky blue, pink, yellow, green, orange, lavender (like the colors of the teacups), or have them all wear the same color (green like you said as main) and accent their dresses with a different color sash and shoes.

The wacky feel for the reception could be achieved by having all sorts of different and mismatched cups and saucers (get them for cheap at goodwill or any thrift store, or rent them), have crazy flowers (you can ask a florist on that one), have tons of paper lanterns hanging of different colors, mismatched linens, and so forth.

Since it's a tea party theme, you can have all sorts of tea cakes, finger foods, candy, apetizers, and you wouldn't need to do a sit down full on meal, unless you want to.

I love the candy buffet ill add eat me things to it maybe cookies and cakes with eat me on em and tiny favors that say drink me. i was also thinking persoalized chocolates and what not. but thats $3.50 per person!

Vanessa you can personalize them yourself! You can get little stickers and print your monogram or whathaveyou on it and then attach that sticker to the original wrapper. They make little round stickers (for hershey's kisses) and little rectangles (for bars), etc.

I just couldnt bring myself to have a traditional reception. my FH and i are fun loving and wacky ppl. we wanted to express that through color and could not settle on just a couple of colors. the tea party gave us the opportunity to have an alcohol free wedding with the exception of wine toast. but we will have a tea bar with all sorts of loose teas providing our guests with a range of flavors and aromas. btw that last photo with the grass in the middle is amazing...... OH I CANT WAIT!

And it is so eclectic that you could really get a lot of stuff at thrift stores and outlets like someone mentioned above and save a ton of money!

Ah the ideas are endless. this is going to be the party of the century!
