Can you go online and delete it from your registry?

my target registry automatically added gift cards and I didnt know til I went to manage the registry online and saw it. I was able to delete it though.

I don't understand why you wouldn't want the gift card?

They tried to do this twice to me at macys its so annoying. I told them no because i would rather have the gifts than people putting money on a macys giftcard. if that were the case i would prefer regular cash not have it be tied to a store

Well that's strange I will definitely keep that in mind I really want to register at Macy's.

No it doesn't give me the option to delete it from the website unfortunately!!

@Cassie Can you try to go back into the store that added it and have them remove it?

I tried to get rid of the dream fund they set up for me and the employee I was working with wouldn't do it. They say it's set up to make store gift cards easier for you. Ideally, a guest would come in and say "I want to buy a gift card for ______ who is registered here." Instead of the bride and groom getting multiple gift cards, Macy's loads everything onto that one card. But I've got to be honest, not a single guest of ours did it. They all bought a normal gift card (didn't mention my registry) and that was that.

Yeah I will have to go in there this weekend to have it taken off! It's definitely annoying that no one will talk to me on the phone though.

Update: currently on the phone with someone removing it, hoorraayy

Amazon automatically added gift cards to my registry too. I deleted them so fast.

Ahh same thing happened to FH and I when we registered at Macy's a couple weeks ago. I will have to call customer service or go in and have them remove it! They sold me the idea as if it wasn't an option, since I couldn't delete it online I figured it couldn't be removed and was "built-in". So sneaky and annoying.

It's not asking people for money...It's meant for IF people choose to purchase you a gift card instead of a gift it all gets put onto a single card for you so you aren't trying to keep track of multiple cards....ETA-i dont think its ASKING for a gift card...my understanding is if someone purchases you a giftcard and mentions its for someone who is registered the have the option of putting it on the dream fund card..

Oh no.....I just registered at macy's too and she gave us the same card, but I was too excited to start scanning shit I didn't even listen to her when she explained what it was. Fudge. I'm pissed now......

Yes I agree Mrs. K, I wouldn't be bothered by the option if I saw it on someone's registry but no sense in taking the chance. & tbh I just really would like what is on my registry or if a guest would prefer a cash gift, it to not be tied to one place.

Wow I registered at Macys and nobody ever mentioned this to me. Thank goodness!! And I just checked to make sure it wasn't snuck in there
