Nicole, on December 28, 2010 at 9:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

Ok So i was wondering if anyone has got a boob job and how long it hurt for?? My fiance knows that after I loose the weight I want to loose that I would like to get a boob job, and said he will pay for it. I'm excited but I'm also very scared now, just for the fact that I dont know how long before the wedding I should do it, so i'm not hurting still for the hunnie moon.. Anything helps!! Thank you!!

I would do a lot of research, after surgery the implants will need to drop a bit and they will look a bit high. If you are interested in having one done before your wedding I would do it at least 7-9 months before hand. You dont want to be putting cream on the cut while on your honeymoon.

I actually got My Boobs done back in August and they still havent set in fully My Dr stated that it will take a full 6 months for them to set in place/fully drop, although im not sure that its taking me a full 6 months cause I've had a lift as well not sure. In regards to the pain, everyone's pain tolerance varies ;it wasnt to bad for me just more discomfort then anything and not being able to sleep in the positions that I'd prefer Smiley smile Regarding the scaring I have very little visible scaring not to sure if its the skin type but im sure that varies in the person as well.

I have to agree with Kayla if your considering the procedure I recommened to do it about 7-9 months from your BIG day...

@Nicole- Thank you so much for asking this question because I have been weighing the pros and cons for a while now. I'm very interested to hear what others have to say.

@Dianna- What kind did you get? I have heard there are different kinds out there i.e saline, gummy bear, etc? This question may be t.m.i but can you tell that you have implants or feel them? I've seen some women who you can visibly tell that their boobs are not real and that is one of my main concerns.

Ihave3 not had it done, but I know alot of girls who have. My only recommendation- do it a minimum of 6 months beforehand, and research your surgeon ALOT. This is not the case to go with the lowest bidder.

I'd also recommend keeping the weight off for a certain period of time before you get it done. If you gain some of it back (we ALL do...), you may have more problems than you care think of right now. I'd recommend getting them tightened instead of enhanced.

But when I turn 35, I've already told FH that I'm getting the twins touched up...

I would wait till after you have kids and just buy a good bra in the meantime. i have numerous friends regreting they did it before, and also getting another lift and new implants and they look silly from being done twice. im not trying to be a debbie downer but hopefully you have thought of that as well. if you dont have intentions of having kids by all means go for it. cant wait for this baby to be born so i can have one more and then get mine done ! lol.

    Your very welcome Nicole.

@ J.J I have saline implants filled to a 450 CC's and mine look and feel so like my boob I actually complained to my Dr as to why they feel like I dont have anything there??ridiculously natural, I swear it dont look like I even got them done. I some what regreated that I didnt go bigger because I lost 27 pounds before I got my surgery & didnt tell my Dr about my weight loss. When I did mention it to him it was after my procedure & it was then that he stated that I should've brought that to his attention prior to the procedure cause he would have recommened to go a bit larger cause of the significant amount of weight that was lost and the excess skin that has been stretched but for me not to worry cause they look GREAT.

    Hope this helps

No worries about it being T.M.I , I dont mind Sharing I'm not shy :-)

Feb. will be a year since I got mine. NOW they are fully settled. But it really takes six months to a year before they get to that point. As far as heal time...I was up and about in a little under a week (However, I also had a few other things done at the same time. If it had just been implants I think I'd have been alright in a couple days.) and I was able to wash my own hair after about three weeks. Reaching up hurts at first. lol. Just...if you do it...remember to keep TP right about knee height. I heard an awful horror story from a girlfriend about how she had the TP sitting on a shelf and she was in too much pain to reach that high. She sat on the potty crying for a good half hour before her sister came over and found her stuck in there. lol.

Oh and always go a little bit bigger than what you think you want. Day 1, they'll be HUGE. Three months later they'll be just right. Six months later, you'll wish you'd gone bigger. The swelling lasts that long, even after the pain is gone.

I had mine done in December of 2008. First and most importantly, you need to do your research not only on the procedure, but on the doctor you choose. Make sure he/she is a board certified plastic surgeon with experience/a few years under the belt. It should be illegal, but sadly just about any doctor (even an ear, nose and throat one) can perform cosmetic procedures without certification.

I'm not shy about cost, so I will inform you my augmentation was close to $6,000 which appears to be the norm so if someone is offering half that I'd be VERY suspicious.

You will most likely have many options as far as the type of implant you'd like. Round is a commonly chosen shape (though they also come in a tear-drop form). Smooth or textured is another option (usually smooth is best since it is less likely to show/cause dimpling of the skin). Silicone or saline? They're both about the same, it's just if you do have one leak/rupture the saline will be noticable quickly since your body (cont)

Will absorb the saline solution (which is perfectly safe) whereas with silicone it could be awhile before noticing. You will also have the option of placing the implant above or below the muscle, this is purely personal preferrence. While ruptures or leaks are actually not as common as believed, it's still a possibility so whereever the doctor goes to place the implant it's possible they may go through another route to replace it if ever needed. My doctor actually offered a type of insurance which covers one implant for 10 years (he's had patients who have had implants for 30 years without needing replacements). If you're on bc, stop taking it a month before your surgery to prevent the risk of blood clots. A common boob job side effect is encapsulation (scar tissue developing around the implant) which makes the breast feel really hard in the places it develops.

I should probably tell my experience as well lol. I chose round, smooth, saline implants which were placed under the muscle and I went from a small B to a 34 full D. The pain was very intense for the first two days (the pain killers were my best friends), but got much better after those first two days especially once the drains were removed. My breasts looked like torpedoes the first couple days due to the swelling and were tender for quite awhile. No exercise/strenuous activity for 2 weeks and no wire underwire bras for a month for me. The only negative I've experienced since the surgery is that push-ups and tricep dips feel a bit weird lol. I have not had children, but I imagine mine won't change as much in size or shape since they are below the muscle and if they do, well I have one insured at least and there's always the option for a lift if needed lol. Good luck!

FS sister had hers done a few years ago, and I remember she was in a lot of pain the first few days/weeks. But now she's good. And I'm pretty sure hers cost around 6k. She went from A cup to a C cup.

But as a natural DD, I would highly recommend you do a lot of research on the size that you want and would be happy with. I know that after I have kids, I'm thinking about having breast reduction and a lift or something but definitely smaller than what I have now. I'm looking forward to wearing a smaller shirt and looking more proportionate since I am very petite.

After I am done having kids, my FH and I decided I can get my boobs done and a tummy tuck. Right now I am about a D cup becuase I'm bigger then I used to be due to not losing weight for baby #2. I am thinkin I could go as big as a DD if I wanted becuase my tata's strech that big when I'm pg, but most likely with go with a full C maybe small D. I LOVE big boobs on myself. Anyway, good luck with getting yours done and thanks for asking this question I have had the same questions as well.
