Low flower budget- creative ideas?

Chelsea, on January 15, 2021 at 12:53 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 18

Hi all! I wanted to see what creative ideas you all have used before if you dont have a large budget for flowers. I'm getting married on the beach (we eloped this past Oct due to covid and are having our big wedding this upcoming Oct) and like the low flowers look for the ceremony (greenery on the sand around the bride & grooms feet- see picture), maybe a few flowers for the chairs and then the bridesmaid bouquets. I have a large wedding party so that is part of it...and am going to do something simple for centerpieces, see picture.

Has anyone had luck with ordering bouquets from Costco or grocery chains? did you have a good experience? My friend got her bridesmaid bouquet flowers from a local grocery store, but her wedding planner was supposed to arrange them for her the day of but she never did and it ended up being kind of stressful so I want to avoid that type of situation.

Thank you!!

Chelsea

If you search the boards, Costco.com, grocery stores and fiftyflowers.com are all highly recommended for great quality low cost fresh flowers. If you order from costco.com they have wedding bundles already assembled that will ship to your door. The other options are more DIY.

I went to michaels to get fake bouquets for me and my bridesmaids. and then i used fake petals for my centerpieces. it was a lot more cost effective that way if you are ok with fake flowers

I don't see any photos like you mentioned, but for our wedding I wanted very simple bouquets for our bridesmaids so they were a single rose with baby's breath. They were not very expensive at all. We did use a florist, but I imagine you can get a simple bouquet like this from a grocery store or make it yourself with flowers from like a wholesaler.

I really wanted real flowers but hate the waste of huge centerpieces, ceremony decor, etc. so I found a reasonably priced florist in my area for my bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 6 boutonnieres, and 2 corsages. For centerpieces, my plan is to order a variety pack from fiftyflowers.com and arrange a couple bud vases per table. I'm also considering ordering a garland or two from Costco.

We had a pretty low, and very strict flower budget. When meeting with florist, we showed them our inspiration photos and told them we would not spend one penny over our $1,000 budget. The first florist to say they could do it got the job. We ended up spending a little less than $1,000 and got everything we asked for.

This is what we did as well! If you're hesitant about arranging them yourselves, then you could always let the florists you speak to know that you have a strict budget. Ours worked with us and got the cost below what our budget was, and included everything we asked for! She even created a pinterest board that we share so that we can both add inspo to it!

I've seen several posts on WW of brides using faux flowers from a craft store, and even from costco! If costco does what Michelle says they'll do (arrange and deliver), then that's a great option as well!

We got married on the beach and I reused all of my ceremony flowers in my reception area so that helped save money. I went with candles and greenery for my centerpieces which helped keep the cost down as well.

We used FiftyFlowers.com and the arrangements were affordable and beautiful (they have many prearranged bouquets to choose from).

My best friend ordered a flower package from Sam's for her wedding. They sent everything she needed, all she had to do was assemble. Her mom and aunt put them together the night before.

I think she spent around $500 for them, but of course you can order more or less to fit your needs.

I’ve seen some people post on here that they go to the grocery store early on in the day and pick out the flowers there, trim the stems down and make those the bouquets and it’s fairly cheap because you can get some bouquets for $10.

My bouquet costs about 24 for the soft latex calla lilies, and 3 bucks for the ribbon from the dollar tree. My bouquet will have 35 flowers in it, the left over 7-8 are for the toss bouquet

The bridesmaids flowers costed about 18 bucks.

So I went to hobby lobby and Michaels and got fake flowers and arrange them myself and I absolutely am in love with it. However I am ordering fake flowers for myself and altogether it might be $400.
