Sorry this is a long post!! Our wedding was July 2, 2021! After a year of postponing, I had plenty of time to look up flower choices! I considered Costco, but worried about the reviews that said flowers were sad/wilted. Fake flowers were either cheap looking or just as expensive as the real deal. Now, I am a bit of a control freak and perfectionist, so my MOH thought I was crazy when I told her we were buying flowers from Meijer the morning of the wedding. However, I am pretty creative and loved how they turned out! With the exception of mine falling at one point before the ceremony and a couple flowers got a beating (that poor red lily). [Pics below]...
After a quick lap through the floral department, I bought one large bouquet and two identical small ones that had greenery and coordinating colors that I liked. At the venue, I had my girls get started with hair and makeup and began my mini project. I took apart the bouquets and organized the flowers into groups to get a big picture of my vision. White carnations in one pile, white lilies in a pile, eucalyptus in one pile, etc. I set the flowers with one or two in the pile for my bouquet and then divided the remainder into four bouquets for the bridesmaids. Then divided the greenery. I had each bridesmaid put their flowers together into a nice bouquet. We then wrapped them with a burlap ribbon I had already purchased before this project came to fruition. Lastly, we trimmed the bottoms for a cleaner look (I do wish we trimmed them a little more).
Before you say "that's doing too much", it took less than an hour. Plus, you're already sitting around waiting to get ready anyway! I needed something to relax my brain and the bridesmaids had fun with it.
