Lord of the Rings Center Piece Ideas

I don't see a problem with it, especially if they go with the centerpieces. This picture is pretty small, how big would the doors be? Just a little bigger or like bigger than the size of a hand? Just curious

I had a similar problem when planning my wedding because I wanted it to be traditional and elegant but also with some nerdy touches. As cute as the doors are and as much as I want to say add them, my concern is that your fiancé doesn’t want them and it’s his wedding too.


My advice, and this is what we did for our wedding, is to put the nerdy touches in the entertainment instead of the decor. You’ve already done some of that with the music and guest book. To give you more example, we had a gaming theme, so we had video game props at the photobooth. So you could get Renaissance/Lord of the Rings type of costumes or signs for that. We had a board game table for people who don’t like dancing. We are also DnD nerds so we played a dice rolling game with the DJ where if the guests rolled a NAT 20, we would kiss. I know it’s not exactly Lord of Rings/Renaissance themed but maybe you could brainstorm some creative ways to add it to the entertainment, therefore not taking away from the decor element.
Lastly, what about making one door and putting it on the wedding cake? That way it’s not overboard in the room but incorporated in one of the decorations/wedding elements. Maybe you could even have a Lord of the Rings inspired cake topper?

You could always have table names instead of table numbers. Attaching image below which also has Arwen's necklace, but people would probably just think it's a pretty bangle you added if they weren't familiar.

Our wedding is at a library and we both love LOTR as well, so I was considering a sign for the front that says, "Please choose a seat, not a side. We are a fellowship here."

I don't think those adorable little hobbit holes are too much! I think they're super cute.

I also love some of the other ideas. I don't think any of the ones floated are too tacky or over the top. And even if they were, it's your wedding. Even if you had the most bland day ever there would be someone with something to say about SOMETHING, so you should choose what you want!
