Looking For Blue Wedding Dress!

Michelle 😊, on August 9, 2020 at 1:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 30

I am looking for a blue wedding dress. I am having a heck of a time trying to find a designer who will do blue. Does anyone know where I should begin?

I think instead of Searching specifically for blue wedding dress it might be more imperative to search for blue evening gowns. Just because I think wedding dresses don’t really come in blue unless you get a customized or dyed

I know Azazie has some light blue/misty blue options. I remember seeing one I absolutely loved from Randy Fenoli too.

Look into evening/prom gowns, bridesmaid dresses or have a local seamstress put one together with your own design. You can also check Etsy (search filter set to US shops) or commission a custom dress there.

European wedding dresses are much more commonly found in colors instead of white only. So you could expand your search there. Designers such as uptightclothing.co.uk focus on colored dresses.

Because it used to be traditional for brides after the first wedding to wear a color other than white, and because the traditional color for virginity in Christian and some other cultures is blue not white ( why Virgin Mary always in blue), blue is always available, just not common.Looking For Blue Wedding Dress! 1

https://www.davidsbridal.com/product_off-the-shoulder-satin-ball-gown-wedding-dress-wg3979_blue-wedding-dresses Most lines that carry blue only pick one or two shades of blue, available in a couple of dresses, each year. So it helps to know what a bride is looking for, to point to a helpful maker. Any dressmaker can of course make one from a pattern and your choice of fabric. There are also high end bridesmaid dresses they are low end for brides, $500 and up. that make nice bridal gowns for destination and outdoor weddings. Similar lines, but with no trailing skirts or trains. So, what do you want for color or style or price range?

White was introduced by Queen Victoria in the 1800s to display her wealth because no one else could afford to buy a dress to wear one day out of their lives. It didn't pick up as a fashion statement until the early 1900s. Prior to Queen Victoria marrying, brides wore their best dress they already owned in whatever color they chose.

I would look for more of a prom dress rather than specifically wedding. The salon I went to one of the girls that helped me find a dress wanted a blue wedding dress, but she couldn't find one she wanted.

Just saw above. Thanks. Aza,or is a newer low end cost maker. Two of this year's blue tones are in the misty or ice undertone not strong, but you have to go through the thumbnails to find which dresses. Reliable company. As they do custom made bridesmaid gowns, I do not know if they offer a wedding dress in a custom color for $100 more, as some will. 3 very pale blues and a touch of lavender, in bridesmaid fabrics. Still, at least check the bridal .Looking For Blue Wedding Dress! 5

Some of Allure's licenced Disney collection list white/ blue/ silver as a color choice. I saw older ones with a single chiffon layer in palest blue with other layers while, and silvery accents. No idea about this year's. Older pre-owned dresses you will find last few years influenced by Disney Frozen ( movie) all palest blue. But how many here have blue, IDK.

I saw my niece try on Taylor Lynette and Taylor by Maggie Sottero. I do not know how many dresses in the line come in Ice quartz. Pictures hardly show it unless you compare it to the same dress in blush, though in salons, with whole dresses, the pale ice blue is clear. Pics from website

    Subtle blues or pinks.
Ask a sales person in a Salon that carries Maggie Sottero dresses. As far back as I remember several dresses in colors make every year's line. I wore a pale gold Maggie, but bought an ice blue destination gown for a black tie event on our honeymoon. Their color seems closest to what you describe.

"Taylor Lynette Wedding Dress Bridal Gown | Maggie Sottero"

    https://www.maggiesottero.com/maggie-sottero/taylor-lynette/16152.
(MS dresses, although most dresses go up through plus sizes, some you see with a second name. Taylor vs Taylor Lynette. The double name is same basic style, fuller cut bosom and butt , more fabric near armholes or sleeves, so not just the same dress 6-32, but a different cut especially for curvy women. 2 or 3 cut variations available with Taylor.)
