Looking for a wedding venue in Orange County.

Jessica, on August 1, 2024 at 6:45 PM Posted in California Planning 0 18

It's been a journey looking and requesting for quotes and I am still struggling to find one. I'm also very specific like starting early, ending late, live music allowed, provide my own caterers. Does any one have any ideas?

I was suggesting that if this is in california, you need to find something in an industrial area or on the outskirts so that neighborhoods would not be disrupted. It helps to know what size guest list you have and whether you want to celebrate indoors or outside. Also, is your budget limited or a bit open?

Look into the Parks and Rec center (historical sites, parks/gazebos, community centers, etc.) or VA Halls. They tend to have less restrictions.

I'm looking for outdoors venues where I can add a tent. I am inviting from 100-150 people. A ranch, garden, or anything that had space outdoors and not limited.

My budget is limited, I don't want to go over 150 people and want to make it more on entertainment like live music and dancing.

One idea is the arboretum.fullerton.edu because it is outdoors. There was not much info on the website to answer the details you want.

This was sort of in the middle of Orange but on the edge of the business/industrial area

It is just something I saw browsing. It appears mostly to be outside and also you can add additional hours.

Sure. hope something fits well. it is a bit difficult finding places that you select your own caterer and even harder to find where extended hours are acceptable.

I'm also having this issue. I'm starting way in advance because my fiancé and I have a really specific image in mind. For example, we want ruined ruins as a venue and there really isnt anything in Southern Cali, so I started looking mid to North and we found a location at Jack London Park which of course does weddings but not at the ruins. So now I'm thinking find a location and just do the photoshoot at the ruins but that feels lackluster to what we want. We want a pet-friendly location and wanted a taco truck but most venues do in-house catering.

I got a binder (The Knot wedding planner from Barnes and Noble) and I'm on, this site, zola, and the Knot messaging venues and just writing out the pros and cons to see what I want to do. I've messaged any venue that looks close to what we want or something I can work with and while at times its disappointing because everything is white or Ivory and my colors are Black, Amethyst, and either sage or pumpkin.

It is nice to find a place to vent though. *hugs* and good luck.

Thank you for sharing I am definitely not alone in this journey. I don't understand why these venues wants us to use all their amenities like it's convenient for them but not for us that actually have an idea of what our wedding should look like. I want my own set time, caterers, design, set up and these places make it hard for us to create our own wedding image. I hope you can figure it out and good luck to you as well!
