Looking for a Rustic, Affordable Venue for 2020 Summer Reception

Kyndra, on January 13, 2020 at 12:27 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4

(Title should say "Reception" lol)

Hello everyone!

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed! I just got engaged this past week and my fiance and I are looking into possible wedding reception locations.

We are probably budgeting around $20-$25k for the whole wedding (not including honeymoon). I was shocked that most venues that include catering run around $150+ a person!

I am located in Bridgewater, NJ and am willing to drive about an hour to the reception. I love rustic, simple weddings. I am not a fan of big ballrooms, etc. My dream wedding would be an outdoor/indoor event in a garden or historic building.

Does anyone have any suggestions for wedding reception venues? I would love to keep the whole reception (food, venue, set-up, etc.) to around 15k. We are looking at about 150 guests. Is $60-$75 a person even possible in New Jersey or eastern Pennsylvania?

Thank you so much in advance!

Sincerely, a bit overwhelmed bride-to-be.

First off, CONGRATULATIONS!!! so happy for you and your FH. There are tons of amazing venues out there. Click on the Vendors tab here and you can search certain areas near you. Personally I was googling "types" of venues and stumbled upon mine!

Congratulations! My husband is from New Jersey and I am from Pennsylvania. We choose to get married in Scranton, PA because New Jersey is way too expensive. Rustic is a very popular wedding theme so by now a lot of places are booked. They are also more expensive because it is a more popular theme. My suggestion is to do a lot of research, but I think finding some for $60-70 a per person in New Jersey is going to be a challenge.

Your price range works for some places (not a lot) in NJ. I live NJ and I have around the same price range for a lot of people too. So I decided to look in PA. However, check out Jack's Barn in Oxford, NJ.

    Hey Kyndra Smiley smile

As Catherine mentioned, the venue directory has a ton of venues you can check out. What’s great is that you can filter by venue type (garden, historic, barn & farm, etc.) -

    New Jersey Historic Wedding Venues

    New Jersey Garden Wedding Venues

You can reach out to any you’re interested directly via their profile for some pricing information!
