Looking for a Hair/makeup Artist that is Good at African American Styling

Hey ! I used the app thumbtack time find myself hair and make up person I’m in Boston but Itis a great app to find people who do African American hair makeup and other black businesses. Unfortunately a lot of wedding websites don’t show case black businesses but thumbtack app helped a lot !

Can you ask the person who normally does your hair for a recommendation? Or if you have a style you're specifically looking for, maybe use that to help narrow down your search? My mom is getting knotless box braids and having them put into an updo, for example. "Knotless braid updo" is pretty specific, so googling something like that (or whatever you want) will bring up more helpful search results. Even if you only find places that do hair, I'm sure they'd be able to help with makeup recommendations.
