Looking for a full weekend venue with activities

I live in the DC area, but we want to get married somewhere where we can have everyone escape and be together for the weekend. Our ideal scenario is a luxury camp (camp vibes without real camp beds) or a nice lodge with cabins. The most important is we want to be able to rent the entire venue for the weekend. Being on water, or by good hiking trails, have a fire pit and games/activities are all wants. We will also have around 170-180 people and we’re finding venues that cap out around 100-150. Anyone have any insights?? Our dates are flexible but early fall 2020 is ideal. Help, pretty please!!

Have you had the chance to check out the WeddingWire vendue search tool for venues that might match what you are looking for?
Here are the Washington DC Wedding Venues that are listed. You filter the capacity so that you only see venues that will fit all of your guests.
You could also look into any summer camp grounds that may not be in operation during the fall. It’s worth a shot!

A coworker recently got married on Peaks Island off the coast of Portland, Maine. It looked like a very fun event somewhat like what you are describing. If you want to keep it closer to home, I suggest looking at Eastern Shore or possibly somewhere in Delaware. I feel like no venues outside of hotels host that many people in this city!

Thank you! I sent them a message to get more information. Definitely open for a destination wedding pretty much anywhere in the US if it fits what we’re looking for.
