Long Island Brides, All-inclusive or Affordable Venues?

Futuremrs., on June 23, 2018 at 3:26 PM Posted in New York Planning 0 10

Hello all! So last time I was looking for venues that would be affordable on Long Island. My fiance and I are both from the East End and really don't want to compromise on getting married where we both grew up, met, and live.

We have increased our budget to $15,000. I know that's nothing for a LI wedding, but I think it's more likely to happen than the original 10K we had set. I plan on DIYing most of the decorations myself to save costs. My question is, any venues on Long Island that would fall in this range? This cost doesn't include attire and honeymoon. We are looking to do no more than 100 guests. Probably closer to 70-80.

Advice, should be trying to find something all-inclusive or try to DIY everything in ourselves? I imagine brining in EVERYTHING would get expensive fast, with booze, food, tables, linens, decor, flowers, cake, plates, etc. etc... But I'm looking for advice! We currently have Coral House and Mediterranean Manor on our list as two all-inclusive options, but a few more we could look into would be awesome! Thank you in advance!

Totally what Suzanne said! I'm from LI, currently living in PA, and we're getting married at the Cottage at East Wind! It's about 16k for 100 people. But it's great because they include 2 choices to pick from for your florist, dj, and bakery.

Thank you both! I contact East Wind and unfortunately they have a strict 100 guest minimum and I can’t garentee that. We only plan to have 100 invites so there’s no garbage we will have the minimum. Still open to any other ideas you may have see in your hunts on LI and congratulations to you both!

You should also check out Lessing’s properties. I know some of them are all inclusive. They’re quite nice as well. I’ll keep my eyes and ears open for you.

Take a look at Hendrick's Tavern in Roslyn. We considered that venue since we were going to be about 75 people and that worked for that venue. We just decided a venue in Brooklyn would work better for us, but the venue is really lovely,

I would highly recommend Masters & Co. in Rockville Centre for flowers. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and they do beautiful work.

I don't know anything about these venues, but check out Marconi Manor in Islip, Ariana Waterfall in West Hempstead, The Sterling in Bethpage.

Keep in mind that is only in like November and does not include ++. The package runs more like 17,999 in the warmer months.

I would definitely check out some Lessing properties if I were you! Especially if you were open to a Saturday day wedding, some locations you will not have to guarantee 100! Mansion at West Sayville is particularly perfect for a smaller wedding! Brentwood Country Club and Smithtown Landing both have the best pricing out of all of them though. We ended up booking Smithtown Landing and have really fallen in love with the staff and venue!

Other affordable options that will keep you in budget are Sunset Harbour (our 2nd choice) and Meadow Club in Port Jeff.

We have looked at all the Lessing properties and they're unfortunately all too expensive. Even the "affordable" venues are 12K on a Thursday in January-March and that doesn't include the 20% administrative fee, NY taxes, and gratuity of $3 per guest per staff (and this was The Mansion at West Sayville). If we wanted to do a Saturday the price is still substantially over 15K and they weren't very willing to work with us to find a day that works. Sadly the search continues, thanks for the others, we are going to look at them!

We are paying quite a bit less than that but I do think pricing has since went up Smiley sad Sunset Harbor and Meadow Club were however our lowest quotes! Also I heard Swan Lake and Rock Hill in Manorville has good pricing too!

    Hi Tetyana

I'm in the same boat as you! If you're open to doing a more DIY approach, look at the Bates House in East Setauket. It's a historic house in a private park and they supply the tables and basic chairs, and allow you to bring in your own food and alcohol (with licensed bartender and insurance of course).

A word of advice, although this is very much a DIY location, they're pretty tough on maintenance of their property and their rules if you agree to have your event there. It's for good reason, the place is lovely. They let you rent from Friday- Sunday (friday set up, saturday wedding, sunday breakdown) and the last i can recall was $4500 for the entire weekend.
