Is anyone else having a long engagement?? He asked me to marry him on 5/20/21 which was our two year anniversary but we wanna wait until I’m done with my bachelors degree in the spring of 2023. It’s a 23 month engagement 💖

There’s good and bad to it. We got engaged at the end of 2018(dec) and we’re originally supposed to be married the fall of 2020. We decided to do that to save money and take our time but of course we got caught up in the Covid fiasco. Waiting till your done with school isn’t a bad idea Id just say keep in mind

PROS: time to save money, time to plan with out as much stress and it’s exactly what you both want.

CONS: you never know what can happen ie: deaths, other family events/ wedding and babies and changes in jobs and financial conditions Good luck and remember it’s your wedding and it should be about you two so what fits your life is the right answer

Opposite, we’re having a less than 6 month engagement. I don’t see a point in getting engaged until you’re actually ready to get married.

I would say 1-2 years is typical for an engagement so 23 months falls within that timeframe. Due to Covid, it was 22 months from his proposal to our wedding ceremony, but we planned a 9 month engagement originally.

It’s the same here, engaged on 11/4/20 but not getting married until 3 years later because I need to graduate first

We got engaged in March of this year and our wedding date is set for 8/4/2023! We've had a little pushback from some family members but its what works best for us so that's what we're going with. We need that time to save up and we're hoping for little COVID interference at that point. A longer engagement also puts less pressure on needing to hire a bunch of vendors all at once, which is nice. Some days I wish it was coming sooner, but I'm thankful we're not rushing down the aisle.
