Locking Knees

Mrs.D!!, on March 19, 2010 at 12:12 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

I have seen a copy of posts regarding not locking your knees.

Sorry, but I am still new.

What is the whole thing behind this please?

ITs when ur standing up there in the church and ur so tense you put all your weight on ur knees which causes them to lock and it can also make you pass out,

OMG... really? I did not know this. But I also can see why someone would be that tense to lock their knees.

At my cousins wedding, one of the groomsmen locked his knees and passed out in the middle of the ceremony. Remind everyone in your bridal party not to lock their knees. Smiley smile

When you lock your knees, its reduces blood flow to your brain eventually casuing you to become light headed and evetually passing out. keep yur knees slightly bent and shift your weight often to avoid this. and if you feel like your going to pass out, sit down. its much less embaressing to sit down then to actually pass out.

OMG my friend gave me this advice right before the ceremony and it was crucial!!! Make sure you don't lock your knees! At one point I found that I had done it and was starting to feel light-headed so I unlocked them.

    I agree Lenora...

And this is my second wedding!!!

FH better not make me mad before the wedding. I just might tell him, he HAS to lock his knees or he might faint! lol

    Just kidding.

It's a very common problem when I was in the Navy during bootcamp several people dropped right on the parade grounds from locking their knees. Relax and breathe that's my plan but I'll probably pass out from excitement Smiley smile
